Any concerned and clear thinking citizen cannot disagree with Dhammasari Koh's highlight on the dangerous and precarious state of our indiscriminate dependence on foreign labour.
With 1.8 million foreign workers (excluding the countless illegals), it is frightening to imagine the potential security problems we could one day be trapped with.
Even if such fears are deemed as paranoid, what have the authorities got to say about the RM19.5 billion being remitted out of this land? Never mind about the growing emergence of diseases that Malaysia had successfully eradicated as early as the 1960s.
Meanwhile, the authorities continue to play blind and give lip service to the growing concerns as they stubbornly fan the greed of businessmen who see windfall profits in hiring cheap foreign labour.
But for how long are we going to be this way? Are there no more capable, clear thinking leaders around anymore who can muscle in some serious change to this long patronised threat?
