In this trying times and debate on the relevance of the multi-racial parties being pitted against one another in the arena of communal politics, it will be very good proposal by the PPP to call for a merger between it and Gerakan in the spirit of Rakyat Malaysia - one voice , one vision and one nation.

Hopefully PPP is not out for political mileage or gimmicks as present day political parties tend to do.

Meanwhile, Gerakan should consider this proposal seriously in line with the party's vision and mission. The name for the new party could be Parti Wawasan to symbolise a new movement in the new millennium.

Hopefully, this proposal would bring fresh hope for other mergers between parties like LDP, PBS, Supp, Snap and like-minded multi-racial parties walking towards the vision of a united 'Rakyat Malaysia'.
