There are approximately 25 million Malaysians and if we were to take 60 percent of the population as Malays, there are 15 million Malays in the country.
Out of the 15 million Malays, only about two million are Umno members. Even if we were to include PAS and PKR in the equation, there are still more than 10 million Malays out there that don't belong to any party.
So what is Umno talking about?
They do not represent the majority of us in any way and have no right to ridicule or threaten other Malaysians and do it in the name of Agenda Melayu. Most of us Malays are, and have always been respectful of the other races in the country and recognise their vast contributions towards nation-building.
We don't run amok with a keris in our hands. We don't spew derogatory remarks and we certainly don't blame others for our misfortunes. So to aspiring Umno politicians, please don't use us, the Malay majority, as your platform to fame and fortune.
By the way, some of my best friends are non-Malays.
