I refer to the malaysiakini report Batu Talam: BN vs Independent . As expected, a so-called independent candidate has been fielded. Ng Chee Pang submitted his nomination for the state seat of Batu Talam.

What is astonishing about Ng is that he is only 22 years of age. How much experience has he had in the world of politics, public service or for that matter, even working life? A kid straight out of school to handle land issues, water problems and education matters?

Before we proceed any further to doubt his abilities due to his age and inexperience, it is important to be aware that his father is none other than the Pahang State DAP treasurer Ng Kwi Ling. Hence, did the DAP really choose not to run, or is Ng a junior puppet whose strings are being pulled by puppet-masters who include his father and those in the DAP above him?

What is DAP trying to achieve with all its cries of choosing to stay away from the by-election not unlike PAS and Keadilan?

Need we say more? If DAP had some sincerity, they would have contested under their own banner, rather than hiding beneath the mask of an independent. What sort of (ill) advice or instruction did DAP give to Ng for him to run as an independent?

Can you, the voter, trust a political party like the DAP which does not even dare hold aloft its own flag but instead pushes to the front an impressionable and nave novice to do its work?
