When I was a little girl, there was no New Economic Policy or religious fanaticism that segregated the people. Religion, we must understand is man made. We lived happily side-by-side and worked for the benefit of the nation. The nation then grew to its present state.

Of course, the more hardworking Chinese still hold the country's economy. If I am not mistaken, they pay the bulk of the taxes which go towards developing the country. Can we be jealous of them? When I get up to go to the market at 6am, they are the ones bustling with activity. If we follow their work ethic, we can also succeed. We need not look West or East.

Education should not be compromised on the basis of race or religion. The land belongs to those who work hard and build the country and not to those who plunder and destroy it. Some of our so called 'high achievers' can't get into the world's top universities. Why? Because our education system has been compromised. So many of our so-called 'bright students' have to re-sit the British A-levels. Why? Again, because our education system has been compromised.

If we are sincere in our efforts to build a strong nation we must start from the roots. Once the roots are strong nobody can shake you. Receiving without merit is a shame. For one's own dignity, we must teach everyone to work hard for what they aspire. Let us from today teach everyone to fish and not just give out fishes.
