I refer to the malaysiakini report Parliamentary committee to call in ACA chief .

We all know that 'who-you-know' matters in the civil service. The ACA chief rose through the ranks of the police force. Transparency and corruption in the police force have always been issues.

I remember very well when the son of a former IGP was caught for corruption in trying to collect money from some stall-holders. This man was later found to have not committed any offence. Only if you understand the network can such issues be explained. Which ACA chief whose own hands may be soiled would be ready to be on the wrong side of an IGP who may also have dossiers against you?

If I were made the ACA chief, I will call an independent commission to probe officers under me who have amassed wealth beyond their means. These issues can be dealt with if we have the will and discipline to do so.

How can thieves catch thieves? Let there be an independent investigation and since there is a police report, it is best if the ACA chief stands down temporarily while he gets his name cleared.
