I am a parent and thank God my two children are adults now. They cannot be listed for National Service training. This whole thing is a farce, concocted by those in power to put money into their pockets. It is so clear for everyone to see. That is why they do not want to heed the call by parents to cancel the project.

Patriotism cannot be instilled by three months of training. Love for the country will automatically be there if everyone is treated fairly. My children were high achievers in school, yet they did not receive any scholarships, and as a single parent I had to work very hard to put them through college. They are doing well now, good citizens who still like this country. More so, they love me very much because I dedicated my life to them (their dad passed away when they were still very young)

The Barisan National government seem bent on squeezing every cent of taxpayers money to enrich themselves and their cronies and relatives. They are not bothered on what the citizens think about them, except come election time. Then they will roll out their empty promises and goodies and, sad to say, Malaysians seem to have fallen for their bait time and again.

The only difference now is that Malaysians are getting poorer and poorer with rising prices of every commodity. Life is not that easy any more - we work more than one job to put food on the table, all these thanks to Barisan Nasional team players from the very top to the police constable on the road who are busy organising more projects to enrich themselves.

Tell me fellow citizens, do you want to vote them in again and remain shackled to this vicious cycle of corruption, intimidation and fear?
