To all the marginalised, hyphenated citizens of Machap - you are not alone! We all know that the chances for the opposition candidate to win at the Machap by-election are very slim, if not impossible.

However, that doesn't mean we can't at least try to stage a huge upset. Believe me, there are plenty of disgruntled, hyphenated Malaysians and the numbers are growing by the day. Thanks to the arrogant, indifferent, and corrupted government that we have.

Let's send a sound warning to the Umnoputeras/puteris by reducing the winning percentage of the MCA candidate (read here as one of the Umno's poodles) or, who knows, maybe even stage an upset.

However, having said that, we all know it is going to be really tough. Here is one possible way we can go about staging this upset. Since Malaysia is such a small country but one with pretty good roads (ironically, thanks to our former British colonial masters), one can always drive to Machap or take a bus or taxi.

So let's all show up and let Machap's disgruntled community know they are not alone. Let them know there are many others who share their plight. Most important, let them know that what is ahead for them tomorrow is a golden opportunity, an unique opportunity to start something new.

Can you imagine what will happen if the opposition candidate wins this by-election. Imagine the effects. What will the Umno spin in the press? Can you just imagine the ensuing circus?

As one of malaysiakini's letters stated, Let's reduce BN's laughter to a smile referring to the arrogant politicians and their cadres in the ruling parties. I might say let's imagine how we ordinary and hyphenated citizens of Malaysia will be laughing at them should the outcome of the by-election be a huge upset.

So, don't just talk or sit around your computers. Do something. Visit Machap, make some noise, educate those so-called rural folks. Tell them you share their cynicism of the empty promises of the ruling coalition, their stage performances every time there is an election. This is common knowledge among the majority of Malaysians.

Let's do something about it. Don't be threatened by scares tactics, gangsterism, etc. Let's organise bus trips to Machap today and tomorrow. Speak out! We are only talking about a margin of less than 10,000 votes.

It is not impossible to stage an upset. Furthermore, there is nothing the authorities can do to prevent you from visiting Machap. What are they going to do, barricade the district?
