I refer to the letter Samy has utterly failed Indian community . Thank you Richard Teo, you have said everything that needs to be said about S. Samy Vellu's dismal performance over the past 20 years.

He should take his cue and step down from his high pedestal. Please let me tell you that all right thinking Indians feel the same as you. Our poor state of affairs at this stage - when the country has achieved 50 years of independence - is due to his foolish way of speaking, acting and running the MIC.

Always adhering to the whims and fancies of Umno and not standing up for urgent issues that need to be addressed boldly for the community. Our community has been reduced to nothingness. Most of our professionals have left the country, seeking greener pastures. Can you blame them?

Those who are left here have to struggle and compete with other major players on almost all issues. The only time we are given any respect is during elections when our mandate is badly needed.

Does Samy Vellu even care two hoots? I don't think so. I am sure he is personally doing very well indeed. Well, good for him. I, for one, will not subject my children to the discrimination we face in this country and will surely find a better place for them elsewhere where there are equal educational and employment opportunities and religious freedom.

Malaysia is a paradise but because we do not have a good leader to fight for our rights today the majority of Indians are still backward in a lot of ways. It is a sad time for us Indians and my fervent wish is that those who received the 'transport money' and 'hearty breakfast' from S Samy Velu will soon come to realise that we are not going to progress and move ahead with bribes to support his flimsy causes.

I thank Teo for his very apt description of the state of Indian Malaysians today in this country.
