I refer to the malaysiakini report Umno's 'Beckhams' can't be waiting forever .

It was quite intriguing to read the comments made by Umno supreme council member Norza Zakaria regarding Umno and PKR. On one hand, he emphatically states Umno needs rejuvenation, in other words, he confirms Umno is already stale, both morally and politically, and it is now surviving largely on using and even abusing government power.

Any fair-minded person, who has done some study on the history of Umno and its current status will realise that its racist ideology has gone into obsolescence and it is gradually losing its relevance in the fast changing socio-political conditions of an evolving world.

There is little doubt that Umno can survive without using 'rogue democracy'. Riddled with uncontrollable corruption and moral degradation, it has become a parasitic appendage of the government apparatus.

It does not have the intrinsic strength to face its opposing competitors head on, such as through public debates and open discussions. Norza Zakaria, if he has any substance, should call Anwar Ibrahim for an open debate and prove his superiority or credibility.

Instead of hiding behind Umno's rogue democracy, he should come forward and demonstrate his seemingly claimed political prowess. Anwar Ibrahim is showing a far more superior vision in protecting the nation's future.

His attacks on corruption, Umno's rogue democracy, and the poor multiethnic leadership augurs well for Malaysia's multiethnic society. His condemnation of Umno's poor quality politics and policies contributes greatly to the nation's well being.

Besides, Anwar has already scaled heights in the international arena which have not been reached by any present Umno leader. It is time Umno leaders use international standards to judge their political capacity and not use Umno pathetic low-grade standards to assess their capability.
