Negarakuku: Nazri out to detract public attention

I refer to the malaysiakini report Cabinet rejects apology from rapper .

I find it appalling that Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz seems to think that his personal sentiments can be construed as that of the whole cabinet. Especially when the information minister has appealed for the public to forgive the overzealous Namewee.

Nazri's pompous, self-serving statements of not accepting the apology were nothing more than a scheme to detract the Malaysian public from more pressing issues such as the bus disaster, corruption and the rising crime rate.

Now when Klang politico-strongman Zakaria Deros built his mansion without permission, the cabinet was quick to urge forgiveness for a much bigger offence. Where is the justice in that?

Would the de facto law minister be very much interested in getting the attorney-general to see what charges can be laid on Zakaria? After all, he has apologised and we have forgiven him, but the course of law must take its due process.

If the powers-that-be are unable to do so, then they should definitely stop making a mountain out of a molehill regarding the 'Negarakuku'.
