I refer to malaysiakini report 'Negarakuku' - what's the big deal?

As usual the Malaysian politicians are grandstanding. Here you have people actually dying in bus accidents and the Malaysian politicians are spending their time condemning a Malaysian student for singing the national anthem with his own lyrics.

Yes, it may be against the law, but if he was not a Malaysian and did this, what can or would the Malaysian politicians do? Would they be able to create such a self-satisfying furore?

Yes, he was wrong but for the love of it, grow up people, and get over it. When you have other ills that plague the country, go focus your energy and efforts there instead of wasting time on this. As usual, Malaysians are so easily swayed like 'lalang'.

One day, it's the buses, the next it's shoddy workmanship on government contracts, the next day government bailouts but after a few months, what happens? Everyone forgets.

Every year, during the 'balik kampung' rush there is always a bus crash or two and there will be a big uproar and the politicians and police will make indignant statements just like now, but at the end what happens? Nothing, absolutely nothing! Why? That, you have to ask the authorities.

So where does this leave us all? In a few months this will pass and sometime later, there will be another issue and this will repeat. So good luck to all Malaysians.
