I refer to the malaysiakini report Pak Lah defends nation's unity .

He was quoted as saying: 'There are many naysayers and detractors both within and outside Malaysia. They seek to paint a dark and bleak picture of Malaysia.

'A Malaysia that is supposedly inefficient and lacking in integrity. A Malaysia supposedly torn at the seams and a Malaysia that is increasingly disunited and in decline.'

Firstly, I would venture that such rhetoric is well beyond Pak Lah's pale and more in keeping with say, an Oxford or Cambridge graduate.

But back to his claims, I would like to tell him that putting a 'supposedly' in front of his words do not make it any less true if you do not continue on to say why it's not true. To his credit though, he has put the finger on the most serious problems our country faces, but he cleverly goes on to say that we are 'not perfect' - a human frailty that appeals to all.

Well, if we buy his argument, we deserve the government that we get.

As elections approach, Pak Lah's main theme will no doubt be unity and peace and he will continue to bang away with it because his BN government can only harp on this. Talking about bringing development and investments will have more connotations.

He had promised us no more rampant corruption, no more wasteful projects, no bailouts, etc, but what has he delivered? As we watch the parade of the taxpayers money being siphoned to bulging pockets and on wasteful endeavors with the villains going scot-free, we must tell Pak Lah that we will continue to be united in spite of his government and put an end to his misery before we have nothing left.
