I am absolutely sickened that the two RedFM morning DJs found the need to make fun of Pope Benedict XVI owning an i-Pod on their Sept 11 morning show.
That His Holiness has an i-Pod is certainly old news but one would have thought the RedFM so-called DJs would be sensible enough not to make adolescent 'humour' speculating on the playlist.
Like giggling pre-pubescent schoolboys, these two proceeded to insensitively joke that the No 1 song on The Pope's playlist was Black Eyed Peas' revolting 'My Humps' whilst repeating one of the many offensive lines of that song right after playing part of the track on air.
I thought that we shouldn't poke fun at important religious figures. Certainly, if it had been other than the Christian religion being mocked, cries of rage would have ensued.
The trend is so prevalent on Malaysian radio. I would have thought that us being Asians, showing humility and being gracious is all part of our culture. Apparently not.
I usually listen in on the show on my way to work. But after today, I will certainly switch stations. RedFM DJs have gone too far this time.
