I refer to the Malaysiakini report Mr Nazri, what witness protection bill?

I am sorry for the prime minister if he has to rely on such a person's iintelligence to make his decisions. If the so-called law minister who often prides himself on matters of law does not even know that there is no 'Witness Protection Bill nor Act' in existence, then what can we say for the words of the PM?

If this is the level of intelligence he relies upon, then it would just be right for him to dismiss him so that he can go back and refresh himself through his legal practice. No wonder the PM is echoing similar sentiments. Why should anyone - even for the love of the country - come out and open himself to ridicule by giving statements when he has no cover?

Anyway, the independent panel tasked with probing the Lingam tape can wait and sit and hope for the best. The whole exercise is a charade done in bad faith. If the authorities were sincere then they would have set up a royal commission and got to the bottom of this issue.

They have an opportunity now to cleanse the judiciary of the ghosts who, under Dr Mahathir Mohamad, did so much damage to that august institution. What have you to fear Mr Prime Minister? Alternatively, you will gain much from such an action and redeem your position with regards to your battle against corruption.

You may even go down in history as the PM who put the dignity back into the judiciary. The challenge is whether you have the moral spine and integrity to do so. If you do, you will only show that you only fear your maker and no one else.

A royal commission will do what is best in the interest of the nation. In this, we are all agreed. You may also find it better advised to remove your present arrogant law minister.
