Courage is one of the hallmarks of a dignified nation. The recent remarks by an Umno minister in the Prime Minister's Department, branding the Bersih's peaceful demonstrators as cowards , is both a disgrace and an insult to basic human intelligence.
Unable to swallow the naked truth that the 40,000 strong people successful expressed their feelings with resounding success has tormented his mind to a such a point that he lost his cool and began using squalid words, so repulsive, so very unbecoming of a minister.
Such is the sordid state of mind of agitated Umno leaders, who have become minsters through a fraudulent electoral processes. If this minister who emphatically claims that the Umno-manipulated electoral process is truly democratic then he must have the natural genuine courage to propose an independent royal commission to prove that the opposition's claim is false. Alas, he does not seem to have the guts to do such a logical thing. These are leaders who, through false pride and ego, blindly defend self-serving views and make a fool of themselves.
If our multi-racial Malaysia with its huge human capital is going to be led by these half-baked, political stooges, there will be no actualisation of its potential. Its growth will be impeded and hampered by these political morons, who do more harm than good. Umno is euphorically-doped by the authority it holds, to a point that it has become blind to truth. Day by day, Umno is losing credibility. Genuine political values are replaced by ugly values of a typical rogue democracy.
From upholding the highest values, it has degenerated into a party vehemently upholding political corruption, without any sense of shame. Such a pathetic state of affairs has brought great insult and disgrace to Malaysia. May Providence give strength to the people to get rid of leaders
who knowingly hide the truth, mislead and intimidate the people and keep the country in primitivity.
