Has anyone wondered why the prime minister said that lawyers are not above the law? Not too long ago, the same chorus was sung by Nazri Aziz and yet the infamous “palace” is still standing in grandeur.

The man who built the palace has sailed way above the law and even had the cheek to ask for state land. He is a special breed who fears nothing and no one. Perhaps he knows too well that nothing and no one can touch him. If anyone dares to, he will start squealing and those in the same boat will have a tough time balancing the rocking boat. No one wants to be the man over board. Since Malaysians have short memories, they will forget about it as time passes by. It is no big deal.

I am not going to talk about Hindraf because everyone knows what had happened. The latest peaceful rally originally planned by the Bar Council had turned sour thanks to the Malaysian police. Hari Raya Haji is around the corner and for years, it has been celebrated by thousands with a happy and peaceful walk. Are the police going to declare this holy, festive walk illegal too? If it is not declared illegal, I am sure everyone would like to know the rationale behind it. Similarly, if it is declared illegal, I am sure everyone wants to know too.

The Internal Security Ministry and the police should have their answers ready. Malaysia is a democratic country and every citizen must abide by the law, including the ruling government and the police.

Cameron Highlands parliamentarian SK Devamany was called up because he did not toe the Barisan government’s line. M Kayveas will be the next to face the Barisan whip. What about Zaid Ibrahim? Shouldn’t he too be called up to explain his words? These three gentlemen had the fortitude to speak their minds.

They are telling the truth and have earned respect from the majority of Malaysians, unlike Nazri Aziz. It is Nazri’s democratic right to accuse Hindraf and Bersih for being cowards. What a cheek! I hope to hear him tell America to butt out of Malaysia’s internal affairs. I will worship you and give you my vote.
