I refer to the letter Chua's sex life none of our business .
I agree wholeheartedly. What law exactly has been broken? Adultery is only an offence in Malaysia if you are a Muslim. Since he is not a Muslim, what exactly has he done wrong?
This is a worrying trend in Malaysia. It seems that Islamic law is encroaching into the lives of non-Muslims. What's next? Will non-Muslims working for the government be asked to resign if they are seen gambling at Genting or partying with alcoholic beverages?
Perhaps non-Muslims will be arrested for ‘khalwat’ next.
It is true that government ministers and officials must show exemplary behaviour. However, this is actually in terms of trustworthiness and abstention from corruption. The minister, by admitting he had extramarital sex, is actually displaying honesty.
So why is a person expected to resign when he has shown that he is willing to speak the truth?
The Malaysian government should stop its confusing double standards. The law must be applied as it is. You either have broken the law or you have not.
Please stop this nonsense of punishing non-Muslims for offences not related to them such as holding hands in public or engaging in consensual sex. It only makes people view Islam as being an oppressive religion which in reality it is not.
