I just applied passports for my two sons at the Immigration Department’s office in Pekan Rabu in Tampoi, Johor. I could not help but notice that there is not a single non-Malay stall amongst the food court stalls on the ground floor of the building.

The Immigration Department caters to all Malaysians regardless of race, religion, creed and class. Why can't the same principle apply to the food stalls to cater for Malaysians who are there daily to apply for their passports?

If the Umno-led BN government really practices what its preach then there should be various stalls catering to the tastebuds of all Malaysians of different races and religions. It is sad that Malaysians are so polarised that even food of non-Malay Malaysians are not encouraged in government buildings.

Pak Lah says that the BN government is fair to all, regardless of race and religion. But on the ground, the reality we see is different. I love my country but I would think twice about whether the present government really deserves my vote or not.
