I refer to Malaysiakini report Fong quits Batu Gajah .
Just when we thought that the oppositions will do well in the coming polls, DAP has to spoil the fun by having their internal problems being aired in public. No one can deny this coming polls will be the best chance for the opposition to win big or even deny the ruling government their two-thirds majority in parliaments, but if they (the opposition parties) can’t get their act together, BN will walk away as the winners come March 8.
DAP, the main nemesis of BN, especially MCA and Gerakan, to win Chinese votes has to get its house in order to win more seats as compared to the last polls. Looks like backbiting, backstabbing in politics is not only reserved for the ruling parties only.
The opposition is also suffering from the same curse with their good incumbents who cannot stand dirty tactics by their own members making way for others as what DAP’s Batu Gajah Member of Parliament Fong Po Kuan was forced to do. She has thrown in the towel due to internal politicking in her own party.
BN will be the ultimate winners if the opposition is in disarray. The common people will be the ultimate losers if corrupt and incompetent incumbents return to power due to opposition infighting. It will be business as usual for them as they have received yet another mandates from the public to plunder public funds for their own selfish needs.
It is a circus out there and DAP doesn’t need to have their internal problems being washed like dity linen in public. The ruling parties will pounce on this to say that the opposition is disunited and can’t even find common ground.
It’s now or never. If with all the scandals and abuse of power by the ruling elite the opposition still fails to garner more votes, then it will mark the start of dark chapters for our country. Old habits die hard and our natural assets and resources will be divided among the ruling classes with the rest of us only getting the crumbs. This is politics, Malaysian-style. When will we ever learn, I wonder.
