I refer to the Malaysiakini report Probe on 'BMC 4' almost completed .

The police have always advised the public never to take the law into their own hands. But at Bandar Mahkota Cheras, itt was very clear that the FRU took the law into their own hands.

If it is true that the four are being investigated, then I would also like to ask the IGP Tan Sri Musa Hassan to investigate all the FRU men including their commanding officer for what is very obviously an attempted murder.

Tan Sri Musa Hassan, when you became the IGP, many believed that you were a ‘no-nonsense’ officer who wanted to repair the image of the police force which was and has been in tatters. Do something about it this time.

Please do not always hide behind the law and please do not threaten people with investigations. It takes a very big man to stand up and say he is sorry and that his men have wronged. The youth could have been killed if not for some of your more sober men.

Your men are supposed to maintain law and order but they took the law into their own hands. If it is true that you now want to investigate the four for attempted murder, then you should also do the same to your men who acted on herd instinct on that fateful night.

Do something with your police force. Bite the bullet and tell your men that you do not take this lightly. Censure them in public if you need to. It may dent their pride but they need to know that what they did on that night was wrong.

Tell them in no uncertain terms that what they did was wrong and that what they did gave a very poor and very distasteful image to the very image that they want to uplift. Tell them to apologise to your other men who work so hard and risk their lives for the security and peace of the people and nation.

Investigating the four and putting as if the four are in the wrong is going to make your men and the police force act even more abrasively in the future. Be a big man, Tan Sri. Say sorry.
