I listen to black metal. The media many times refers to the listeners as black metal 'members'. The so-called black metal 'group' does not exist. Maybe only one in Sungai Petani, Kedah, and that does not represent the whole of Malaysia.

We do not drink blood as the press claimed. We do not worship the devil.

It is unfair to blame black metal for societal ills. Black metal condemns stupidity, laziness and unproductivity.

I wish the government would listen to black metal musicians' point of view, as I am one of them, and stop linking black metal to punk or skinheads.

The idea of black metal as a lifestyle in Malaysia is just a myth. It is totally irrelevant to Malaysians We black metal listeners are just that - listeners.

. The music is my life, not the idea, the lyrics and so on. And this holds true to virtually all black metal listeners, and not so-called 'members'.

How can there be members if there's no group? And again, it is only in Sungai Petani.

How can the government suppress music? Why not gangsta-rap? Why not sexually explicit techno?

The government is blaming the wrong people. I am saddened knowing that I might not be able to perform with my band again.

Please, I beg the government, we are just normal human beings.
