The days keep rolling by. Come rain or shine; come economic panic or financial tsunami - there is still no let down in the political embroilment these days.
Days into weeks and now well past half a year since the last general elections, and there seems to be no sign of getting back onto our feet to get on with the onerous task of nation-building.
On the contrary, we are digging deeper into the sewers of political greed.
‘Whom do we believe?’ has become the nation's 26 million people's biggest confusion. Meanwhile, the battles and barbs continue unabated while hopes get bashed against the unrelenting boulders of deceit, greed, self-interest and corruption within the political corridors of Malaysia.
In the final analysis, the signs are all around us are indicating a political collision beyond one’s imagination. And in that eventuality, there will be no winners. And the worst hit will be the helpless tax-payer.
But who cares?
The opposition is made out to be the persistent rogue. The ruling party is made out to be the perennial thief. The former PM seems to be totally ineffective in speaking up against race politics while he preoccupies his vintage lifespan on party rather than national supremacy.
The current PM seems to constantly put everyone on a treasure hunt of moving targets.
The mounting legal suits and counter-suits, while making some lawyers rich, keep zapping the nation's judicial responsibilities. Meanwhile, the innocent and the vilified together with true criminals remain behind bars.
And the media continues not to fail to fan even the tinniest cinder of hatred among the populace.
Appointments to high offices keep surprising even the uninitiated layman.
The police are too busy with political hunts while 26 million are left to fend for their own safety on the streets, in car parks, at business premises and at home.
What do we tell our young? What story do we write and leave behind for the unborn? Indeed the house of Malaysia is in total disarray. The arsenals are perfectly in place for a mega-collision.
We can then, only leave the remnants to tell the story...
