We had the Lingam Tape episode. But despite all that has been said, not said and eventually recommended, action against the nation’s robbers has yet to take place.
Or take the case of the on-going murder-of-the-century trial. It beats ones imagination of how hard it is these days to fix the criminal even though it is globally profiled. And how about mysteriously wiping off all the victim’s immigration records and still not an eyelid is batted?
We are not even talking of the silent land robbers who seem to get all they want while the working slave-rakyat is losing sleep over meeting his mortgage payments over his only roof.
And how about the incredible bombing through of bank vaults to rob? Only recently we got our first lesson of how explosives are detonated in a remote forest to disintegrate a human life. And now we learn that you can also bomb your way through the teller machine.
When Dr Mahathir Mohamad resigned, he was in tears. ‘Enough! Enough!’ he cried keeping everyone gasping as to who has been torturing him to lead the country so far that he finally broke down in public, unable to continue pleasing a somewhat hidden hand.
The current prime minister hardly got to take off after the 12th general election and the unseen hand was at work with banners all over the country screaming for him to lay down his tools. And finally he relented with promises of the Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak taking over.
Again, an unseen hand at work!
Rais Yatim, Musa Hitam and even Mahathir all recently echoed in unison that the unseen hand of corruption with money politics was aggressively at work and that it would kill the party. But nobody wants to fix the crisis.
In the past, even a menteri besar was willing to risk being caught by foreign authorities when he carted along bag loads of cash. He was even willing to go the distance to be tried in court and debase himself on behalf of an unseen hand, claiming that he does not read English.
We have also seen and even till today how huge amounts of the rakyat's money is being pumped into unseen pockets all in the name of financial rescue. And by chance if anyone questions why are all these mysterious things happening, they too may mysteriously disappear.
Talk of disappearing, we already have two or three cases of the rakyat and their families made to disappear while everyone goes about their political chores like as if these cases are not their business to know or even account for.
When the chief justice was to be appointed, much dirt was spewed into the public’s eyes. But come the day, the Rulers ink the appointment.
Individuals get thrown into isolation under the chains of the ISA even though the rakyat and even some ministers protest at these unjust actions. Yet, no one is able to chain that unseen mysterious hand at work. Not even the Rulers nor the prime minister.
So it looks like there is a strange mystery about the way Malaysia is being governed. One wonders who is that mysterious personality who seems to have so much power over us ordinary rakyat?
Indeed mysterious, Malaysia!
