I refer to the Malaysiakini report Tussle for brownie points over school .

Brownie points? Oh, what a bunch of hypocritical losers the MCA has become. We all remember that they promised not to close the Damansara Chinese school if the Chinese community supported the Barisan Nasional a few elections ago.

Then after BN won, the school was closed. MCA then groveled at a developer in Tropicana to give them a piece of land to build a Chinese school to placate the irate parents. MCA tried to rationalise to them that the school is now located in an ‘affluent’ community, so everyone should be happy.

But the land was right smack in the middle of a T-junction and the cause of massive traffic jams to the people who actually live in that community. Besides, it was a piece of land which wasn't worth very much to begin with.

With high tension wires next to it, and deep ravines, it was a no-brainer that the developer gave that land up instead of other better locations.

The report above does not do justice to what really happened and if the relevant people had been interviewed and the events tracedvwhich caused the Damansara Chinese school to somewhat evolve into the new Tropicana Chinese school, there would be a better picture.

It will also be realised that the parents whose children refused to move into the new school and had to study in containers are the real ones who stood up and whose principles are unwavering, unlike those in the MCA.

The audacity of the MCA to turn up and try to reopen the Damansara Chinese school after the thrashing of March 8 is quite an indication that they have not learnt from their past misdeeds.

Moreover, trying to change the school's name to hide their past indiscretions is shameful, and not admitting their mistakes lacks integrity.

To digress, ironically, Mukhriz Mahatir is correct. The only way to integrate our society is to have all races study together. How can you integrate the races when 85 percent of all Chinese kids go to Chinese schools? Why Chinese schools? Because everyone knows the national school system is not good.

What is flawed in Mukhriz’s assertion is that Bahasa Malaysia should be the medium of instruction. I beg to differ and many high-level educated Malays agree with me privately that English should be the main language of teaching with BM being compulsory for all to master.

Language is not necessarily the only viable ‘unity componen’t. There are other ways to integrate our society. I had an all-English education growing up and have best friends from all races. What is the issue here? Stop using language to politicise your racial agenda. India has a similar English dominant-with-Hindi model and it has been very successful.

By the way, what MCA has no guts to tell you is that the top Chinese students have mostly all been offered scholarships and then jobs by the Singapore government and then later become Singaporean permanent residentss/citizens.

We are producing these talented students like a manpower ‘factory’ for Singapore because these students will not be able to get the scholarships in Malaysia. They take our best students and laugh at us because our country spends millions of dollars to educate our children for foreigners to reap the benefits.

MCA, tell me you do not know that this is happening. I am even more worried if you really don't know.

MCA, having betrayed the Chinese community for the last few decades with their self-serving personal agendas, will see their demise in the next election. I await with bated breath for the silent majority to finally come out and finish off the MCA (as well as Gerakan) in the next general election.
