'Rape of democracy' at Perak assembly

your say ‘Though many are disappointed with the action of the Perak royalty, police and civil servants, I believe that there is a silver lining to this. There is a saying ‘what goes around comes around'.'

On Sivakumar dragged out, BN speaker takes over

Kumar Krish: This only shows that this country is run by morons!

The fact that speaker Sivakumar was forcibly removed from his chair during the assembly is clearly a rape of democracy.

Dian Abdullah: What happened to Sivakumar at the Perak state assembly is an eye opener plus a lesson to cherish.

Though many are disappointed with the action of the Perak royalty, police and civil servants, I believe that there is a silver lining to this. There is a saying ‘what goes around comes around'.

Pakatan should now plan and prepare not only for the 13th general election but also on how to oust Najib or anyone from BN from ruling this country.

This by using the same action applied yesterday in Perak.

To counter BN we need to follow the ‘Art of War' method. Strike where it hurts the most at the right time.

I honestly do not see Najib lasting even one term.

Maniam Sankar:

The police and court now rule at least in Perak and, doubtless, soon the whole country.

Mr PM, sir, if you think the lawlessness by government officials can be contained to yesterday's activities in Ipoh, you are so wrong.

You have unleashed a monster of a police force that wants to dictate what colours to wear and where to eat breakfast.

A police force that walks in at will into a state assembly and drags out elected reps.

The last PM left in disgrace due in no small measure to a disobedient civil service.

And, as the the present PM, you have watched civil servants willfully act in a partisan manner in disregard to the law. And a police force showing their thuggery to elected reps.

To complete the spectacle, there was the regent fiddling like Nero while Ipoh burned. Mr PM, sir, and the BN, ask not for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee too.

Timmy Say: Dear Sultan Perak and Raja Nazrin, After today, do you really think it is still wise to not to dissolve the Perak assembly?

How many more rules and protocols need to be broken before you can come to terms that you might have erred in your previous judgment?

The chaos, the shame, the ridiculousness, the brute and the unthinkable have happened and it embarassed every Malaysian living in this world.

A wrong decision leads to a bigger mistake, and now an irreversible history that has tarnished your entire family's legacy.

You can still correct this by dissolving the assembly and returning the decision to your subjects, which are your people, the Perakians.

Please correct this perception; the Perakians did not ask Tuanku to retain the Pakatan government - they are merely asking Tuanku to let them to choose again their rightful government.

It is only fair to them because they were cheated by the three ‘frogs' and they are hoping Tuanku will be able to help them regain this justice.

This is where the source of frustration comes from. May God gives you the strength to do the right thing.

Return to your people and ask them again who they prefer to govern their daily life.

Daulat Tuanku.

Adcin: The power grab by BN of the Perak state government and the proceedings of the sitting of the state assembly should leave us all aghast, whichever stripe you may belong to.

The price for this meaningless victory for the pride of a man is ultimately a bigger loss for Malaysia.

We see our beloved country unravelling before our eyes and the fabric and institutions that holds us together being ripped asunder.

How can anybody not feel the palpable pain and grief that is reverberating throughout the country?

How can any Malaysian who loves his country still share in the joy of this one man's 'defining' victory?

Oh Najib, what have you done?

Baiyuensheng: I followed the proceedings of the Perak assembly with eagerness. I came out believing that BN has dug too deep for their own good.

The people will remember this day.

But I think Pakatan has come up victorious in the sense of the symbolic gestures accorded by the Perak Regent Nazrin.

He summoned Nizar and Ngeh for a quite talk (maybe to reprimand them - I don't know) and allowed Nizar to escort the Regent after his royal address.

I think it is significant as Zambry was never near him or allowed to be near him.

Prema Muthiah: This is a disgrace to democracy. How can the police interfere in the affairs of the assembly?

Who instructed the police to enter the house and drag the speaker out.

Why were the seven suspended excos and the three ‘BN friendly' assembly persons not pulled out of the house when the speaker ordered so?

Do the police and sergeant-at-arms only listen to BN orders? I think the the entire police force should face a suspension immediately and the Perak CPO should resign immediately.

Enough is enough of these BN clowns. Dissolve the Perak assembly immediately.

Zambry's and Ganesan's position are all illegal. Who is the producer of this ‘play'?

Taneug:

It is reported that Ms Hee tore up the ringgit notes thrown at her. It is against the law to disfugure currency let along tear them up.

Ko-han Wai: Black is a great colour and yesterday supporters of democracy wore black to clearly symbolise the black day of May 7 in Perak.

With all the pandemonium in the state assembly and hooligans in jacket storming the hall, it clearly shows how lawless the Najib administration has become. ‘1Malaysia' indeed.

After this disgraceful chain of events, it clearly shows that we Malaysians really need to make a change come the next election.

If, by then, the people still vote the BN into power, then Malaysians really deserved to be shafted.

PL: The events in Perak have reminded how BN/Umno/the police have nil respect for democracy, the democratic process and the rule of law.

The recent events in Perak make it clear that BN/Umno/the police are thugs.

How to deal with thugs? One way is to ‘hartal' (general strike) until democracy and the rule of law return to Perak.

Better still, why not ‘hartal' until democracy and the rule of law exist throughout Malaysia?

Let's not ‘hartal' just for ourselves, let's ‘hartal' for our children also.

So that they can live and work in a democratic country that respects human rights and treats it's citizens with the respect they deserve.

On Najib: Be truthful to win people's trust

Andrew: Talking nonsense. Where is the truth in Altantuya Shaaribuu's murder? Where is the truth in Kugan's murder and the numerous deaths in police custody?

Where is the truth in PKFZ? Where is the truth in the submarine and Sukhoi purchases? Where is the truth in the human trafficking of migrants at the M'sia-Thai border?

Where is the truth in the Perak power grab? Where is the truth in the lack of prosecution for BN corruption?

Where is the truth, Najib?

The truth is you are full of spin and snazzy public relations. But we can see right through you for the political fraud that you are.
