'Najib, don't blame sultan for Perak'

vox populi big thumbnail ‘So Najib says that BN will let the sultan of Perak decide on fresh elections in Perak. Is he trying to make the sultan the villain of the piece?'

On The ball is in sultan's court

Vivian Lim: So Najib says that BN will let the sultan of Perak decide on fresh elections in Perak. Is he trying to make the sultan the villain of the piece?

Or is he trying to convince his own Umno members that it is the sultan who capitulated, and not him, should fresh elections take place somehow ?

More than three months ago, Najib stood triumphantly before the press, grinning like a Cheshire cat, flanked by the three infamous party-hoppers.

Wasn't that to tell the Malaysian public that he was the mastermind behind the whole ‘ingenious' coup ?

Yet, now that things are not going well, he is trying to lay the blame at the sultan's feet. Come on, Najib. We have been having indigestion the past few months trying to stomach your meaningless platitudes.

We all know that your wish is the sultan's command, so don't hide behind the poor man's ‘kain samping'.

This is between you and the people of Perak, full-stop. If you do not want fresh elections because you are scared, just say so-lah, and face the wrath of the rakyat yourself.

If you are brave enough, just get on with it, throw down the gauntlet to Pakatan and stop embarrassing yourself further by talking rubbish.

On Why is Zambry getting 'special treatment'?

Retired CEO: The rakyat are not stupid anymore. They can very easily compare the speed of the one day given to Zambry as compared to the one week given to Nizar.

It is of equal urgency and importance. Why the different treatment? Is the court of appeal becoming BN's special tool now? Wake up, judges! Please don't make a fool of yourselves!

The rakyat is so tired of your games. It is too childish. Why can't the BN and the judges behave themselves well? T

The whole world is watching you. Respect is to be earned and not by cheating and making a fool of yourselves. It is time for change.

Anthony Bosco: Najib, should advice the three state representatives who crossed over to BN to resign. They can be nominated to stand in their respective constituencies.

Since these three persons have caused and consigned our constitution to be almost deposited into the dustbins of political history and have rendered to us into limbo, let them face the people to get a new mandate.

Najib, this suggestion will help you save a lot of money and there would be no need to dissolve the state assembly.

We, the people of Perak, are the masters in any case of any politician's destiny.

Najib, we think this is a pragmatic proposal. So stop playing any further politics and remember, that procrastination is a thief of time.

As such, your ‘1Malaysia' slogan may work and may be given a new lease of life.

On A Sabahan makes his mark in Washington

Frankly Xroy: The Malaysian Foreign Affairs minister Anifah Aman used the judgement by the high court declaring Nizar to be the rightful Perak MB to talk about how good our justice system was.

But he did not say that the very next day, a judge who was asked to grant a stay not only granted a stay but also literally overturned the decision by retaining the status quo prior to the judgement made by the high court judge.

That also speaks about Anifah's credibility. I am no lawyer but I possess a God-given common sense and that common sense tells me this was a great travesty of justice.

Zambry got his hearing the very next day but Nizar is made to wait for about a week so that alone speaks volumes about our judicial system.

How can we, as the rakyat, be assured of fair play from such a justice system. ‘Will we ever?' is the question ringing in the ears of every moderate citizen.

On Dr M 'blames' editors for self-censorship

Yum: ‘History is written by the victors,' said Winston Churchill. But not all written history accurate reflects reality.

This gentleman is deluded or losing his memory or deliberately deceiving the public, or worse,

all three.

Sorry, dear sir, for calling you names. Your perception of reality is not shared with the thinking public regarding mainstream newspapers.

A Recalcitrant:

Once bloggers were called recalcitrants

But are now regarded as symbol of freedom

Cause Internet censorship is hard to fathom

Who is who is the recalcitrant?

Now recalcitrant turns to freedom

and tell self-censorship as the reason

for wrong blames being a recalcitrant

for wrong perceptions against press freedom

People have wisdom to know the reason

for this dark episode in press freedom

Yet those in power still remain arrogant

continue to act as recalcitrant

On PKR ready to fight Umno in Penanti

Dian Abdullah: Of late Mahathir seems to be giving hints that he wants Najib to be thrown out by the people. I don't know, I might be wrong.

Some time back he wanted BN to contest in Penanti, saying that during his time, he had never backed down from an election.

Then he went on to say the BN takeover of Perak was illegal and a dissolution of the state assembly should be the way.

Last week he says elections are a waste of money and that to solve the Perak crisis, have a no-confidence vote against Nizar.

He said if Perak elections were to be held, BN would lose badly. This is a fact that every Tom, Dick and Harry knows.

Mahathir may be old but he is no fool to demand Pak Lah step down to pave the way for Najib, who was the perfect bait. Mahathir had always kept Najib's file.

Now, it seems that Mahathir is also paving the way for Najib to drown himself. But what I do not seem to understand is, why so soon?

Is it because Mahathir feels that since everything is on fire, he should grab this opportunity to get rid of Najib and replace him with Muhyiddin so that Mukhriz can have a better chance of becoming PM?

Not many people realise that Mahathir's eyes always turn green when people talk about Lee Kuan Yew's ability to put his son Lee Hsien Loong as the Singapore prime minister.

So do you see which direction Mahathir is going?
