'Make Khairy a High Court judge'

vox populi big thumbnail ‘They should replace Justice Abdul Aziz Abd Rahim with Khairy Jamaluddin as a High Court judge as Khairy seems to know the law better than the learned judge.'

On Nizar: Pow-wow won't get us anywhere

Ravi K Raman: Khairy Jamaluddin has said: ‘Zambry Abdul Kadir was the rightful menteri besar as BN has the majority in the state seats'.

They should replace justice Abdul Aziz Abd Rahim with Khairy Jamaluddin as the High Court judge as Khairy seems to know the law better than the learned judge.

The judge had stated very clearly in his judgment as to why Nizar was the rightful Menteri Besar. Khairy should at least read the judgment before shooting his mouth as he always does.

Besides, how on earth did he arrive at the conclusion that BN has the majority in the Perak assembly. BN has 28 and Pakatan has 28.

The three ‘frogs' are not BN members, but ‘BN friendly members'.

Stephen Ng: The Perak deadlock is inevitable and a disgrace to the BN. Perak BN may now call for an emergency meeting to pass a vote of no confidence against Nizar Jamaluddin, but that would mean two things.

In the first place, its menteri besar was appointed in haste, and the motions to appoint MIC's Ganesan as speaker was done before the assembly meeting was even convened.

This is disrespectful to the royal family of Perak. These two implications are definitely not in favour of BN.

Whatever the case is, BN is in a big dilemma. It will continue to suffer from the ill-feelings of the people of Perak.

Judging from a survey online, I daresay that Malaysians at large are against the power grab in Perak, which has reached a stalemate.

No amount of negotiation would solve the problem save for a fresh election, Mr Prime Minister. This is by far the biggest mistake by BN since the last general election.

Peter Ooi: I strongly agree with Nizar's statement. Najib has been playing games at the expense of the rakyat. Being the architect of the takeover of Perak, he should know how to solve it.

But after finding his plan entangled in a mess, he wants to talk terms with PR. The reason given by him that any dissolution of the state assembly depended the Perak sultan does not make sense at all.

To put the blame on the Sultan of Perak is very unethical of him. Or this is the simplest form of excuse?

If only Najib can be honest and just agree to a dissolution, I am sure the sultan would have no objection. His Royal Highness knows too well how much his subjects have suffered because of the crisis.

Frog Dissector: Why has no one among those who elected the ‘jumping frogs' in Perak made a police report for misrepresentation?

When you stand under the manifesto of PR, how can you then just ignore that stand after you get the people to vote for you? No voter votes for a person but rather it is for the party and their manifesto.

So to jump ship means you have misrepresented the people and therefore you are a cheat and a liar and you should go to jail for it.

On Confirmed! BN not contesting Penanti

Malaysian Justice: BN creates history! What will happen next? Najib and gang are really scared to lose these days. BN is refusing to face the rakyat at all costs.

Wow! I have never seen a situation like this in Malaysia before. For all the reasons they give regarding not contesting in Penanti, we all know the truth.

And the truth is that if they thought they had a chance to win in Penanti, they would have stood.

The fact is that BN themselves don't believe that they can win.

In fact, they are probably afraid to score more ‘own goals' if they decide to campaign there!

But do you think they are going to sit still and do nothing?!?

Like all sore losers, I am sure BN will play their role of spoiler. I am sure they are going to back some independent candidate and campaign for him/her indirectly.

With no candidate in place, BN will have to go on an indirect campaign trail to smear PKR instead of promoting their own candidate.

Rocky: BN is so good, they try to save every cent of the rakyat's money by not contesting Penanti. Wow! What a load of BS.

BN did the same thing to solve their internal problems when they forced two by-elections in Selangor in 1997 when Muhammad Muhammad Taib was forced to quit as MB.

Instead of appointing one BN Adun as MB, BN made Abu Hassan Omar quit his MP's seat. Then another BN Adun had to quit his seat to allow Abu Hassan to contest there.

BN thus forced two by-elections which were not necessary and a surely a waste of money. Those by-elections were engineered to solve internal problems in Umno.

So what kind of nonsense are you talking about, dear PM? Do not assume we are stupid or we do not know history, PM.

We can just Google and find out everything you did and said over the many years including your comments about ‘Bangsa Malaysia' which you claimed is just a concept.

What about your ‘1Malaysia'?

AK Kumaran: What a shame Najib. Can't you see the mess up you have over-excitedly created? You don't even dare to face the Penanti rakyat.

How can you face the Perak people? See if you can sleep peacefully.

On 'When all else fails, we will turn to people's power'

The Dark Knight: Mr Nizar sir, if it didn't even occur to you in the slightest degree whatsoever, all avenues have already been exhausted!

And if you continue to seek avenues to democracy which do not conform to the ‘polices' of this country's ruling regime, you will inevitably exhaust the people's will way before you can even find the next avenue for democracy.

As for Malaysians, what hope of ‘people's power' can you find among Malaysians?

To be honest, the reason why Malaysians or Asians do not have revolutionary tendencies is because instead of having a ‘people's power' attitude they only have a 'my power' attitude!

And the more you delay the necessary revolutionary methods of change the less ‘people's power' you're going to get.

This because the evil regime will continue to strangle the people even harder as you continue your quest for ‘legitimate' avenues...

On Najib has got himself into a Catch-22 scenario

Bosco Philip Anthony: The government of the day has for quite sometime, ruled by ‘myth' and is now caught in the cobweb of its own making.

Whilst Umno used the theme of ‘Malay supremacy' to keep in check the Malays, the MCA, the MIC and other BN component parties slavishly followed the call of their political master.

The diabolically conceived and created ‘Malay supremacy' was a myth and as such the Malays are now divided and there is no unity within them.

The other component parties are disillusioned and in a disarray. The voting populace is no longer amusingly simple.

Herein, lies the insurmountable self-inflicted injury created by the government, which frightens its continued existence.

On Retract remarks, Anwar tells Anifah

MP: I watched Anifah Aman's joint press conference with US Secretary of State Clinton on video and I must say that I am not all impressed with our new foreign minister as to the way he spoke as well as the contents of his speech.

As a foreign minister, one must know what to say and what not to say at certain formal functions.

People judge our country by the way our foreign minister speaks and yet we have our Anifah talking about Anwar, the offer of the post of DPM and the infamous murder case to an audience of American journalists and in the presence of the Secretary of State Clinton.

Does he have to go all the way to Washington to say this? He is supposed to talk on Malaysia-US relations.

I thought PM Najib selected a very capable Foreign Minister for his new cabinet, but now I know it is nothing but a recycled one. Does he know where Burkina Faso is? What a let down.

On Purge in PPP: Murugiah, six others expelled

Malaysia Boleh: Well, I think Kayveas should accept that there are other leaders that are just as capable as well.

By sacking them and ostracising them, he is not helping the party. When a person is doing good he should be groomed to succeed the leader.

This reminds me of a well-known senior Indian minister. Although this minister lost in the elections, he still says he is the supremo of the party. How arrogant can one get?

On Three MAS passengers cleared of A(H1N1)

CK: The outbreak of the A(H1N1) virus in Malaysia shows a lack of sound judgment and the inadequate precautionary measures by the Ministry of Health.

The ministry should have followed up with the conditions and locations of those arriving from the US ever since the outbreak of the virus.

Screening at the airport has proved to be futile as the symptoms of the virus could take a longer time to appear.

Now, the authories are having trouble looking for those passengers who did not inform them of their whereabouts.

I believe that the Ministry of Health will have unsatisfactory key performance indicators (KPI).

On Another brickbat for cabinet's 'conversion' decision

Doraisamy: It is not acceptable at all the resolution passed by the PAS Muslimat Council in regards to the conversion issue.

Here the cabinet's decision was right. When a married party converts, how can Islam take precedence?

Why should the children follow a new religion when merely only one of the parents convert?

The children should remain in the original faith until such time they choose their own faith, which may not necessarily be Islam.

If we agree to the PAS resolution, then we are forcing the children to accept only Islam without giving the child any choice. A fault by a parent should not drive the children into a corner.

MIC, PPP, Gerakan, the Hindu Sangam and others who talk about religious freedom, please speak up.
