"We will expose the cruelty and the abuse of power against Selangor leaders and the government," he said at a press conference in Parliament House today.
"This is a high-profile case and we want a royal commission of inquiry. We do not trust investigations by the police,” he said.They were speaking after a roundtable session that focused on the alleged failures of the police force.
High-level meetings sought
Pakatan leaders hope to have an immediate meeting with premier Najib Abdul Razak to discuss widening the scope of the inquiry; abolition of the Internal Security Act before a planned protest on Saturday; and termination of the contract of the inspector-general of police (IGP).
They will also request an audience with the Agong to bring up issues regarding the commission of inquiry and extension of the IGP's service.
Among those who attended the Pakatan roundtable dialogue today were Zaid Ibrahim, Salahuddin Ayub, Nasharuddin Mat Isa, Azmin Ali, Dr Tan Seng Giaw and Elizabeth Wong.
Zaid, Salahuddin and Anthony Loke will now head the secretariat of their respective parties, while Azmin Ali, Nasharuddin and Tan have been elected chief whips.
