MCA Youth chief Wee Ka Siong lashed out at community leader Robert Phang for accusing him of fixing Ong Tee Keat's plane rides on Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd's private jets.

Phang had said that Wee, who holds a doctorate in transportation, is best qualified to replace Ong as he harboured ambitions of taking over the MCA president's ministerial portfolio should the latter resign.

NONE Wee ( left ) said Phang's claims were "baseless" and "mere concoctions."

"The first plane trip we took together with Ong was purely coincidental... we had attended a function together in Kuching and it was very late.

"We came to know that there were extra seats on Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KDSB)'s plane bound for Kuala Lumpur and we were offered a ride back," said Wee.

Wee said that it was "mischievous"of Phang to claim that he had made the arrangements for them to get on-board KDSB's jet.

"I don't think it is a right thing to do... I have met him (Phang) and have spoken to him... but would I be that crazy to say that I want to become transport minister?

"Come on, I do know that he wants to support the president (Ong) but that does not mean that he has to hurl such accusations against me to show his support.

"These are just mere concoctions... it's very cruel (of Phang) and I'm very sad by these statements," said Wee, clearly upset when asked to comment on the matter.

'It's a plot to create chaos'

Phang is the Social Care Foundation chairman and sits on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission board.

NONE Wee said that he could not comprehend why an "outsider" - referring to Phang ( right ) - would make such insinuations against him and MCA Wanita chief Chew Mei Fun.

"If he is interested, he can apply to become a delegate and he can vote for the president he loves. It is everyone's right to support any one but don't concoct (stories)," said Wee.

The embattled youth chief has been calling on Ong to respect the wishes of MCA delegates and resign as president after a no-confidence vote was passed against him at the EGM last month.

"Come on, our leaders are wise... let them do what they want... this is a trick to cause chaos... I do not target anyone, I'm not a superman, why make me the victim of dirty tactics?" asked Wee.

"I'm an ordinary human being, servant of God. I don't deal with things this way. I will continue defending myself as long as I'm right.

NONE Asked he would be sacked from his youth chief position, Wee said: "Wait and see! My fate lies with the president."

Chew ( left ) also commented on Phang's claims, and told Phang to keep his remarks to himself.

"He can comment. We can't stop anyone from giving their views, but they must be fair," she said.
