'He is sounding worse than a off-key Chinese opera singer with an equally off tune supporting ensemble. This gruesome threesome has flushed every shred of dignity left to the pathetic MCA has down the political toilet.'
Fresh polls only way out: Liow says it again
Jacob George: In the American legal system, it is called 'entrapment' and the defence lawyers will have a field day in court and the damages will run into millions, not forgetting the political fallout. But I fully agree that this matter should be re-opened and there's no need to be a political scientist to know whose names will emerge.
We forget that laws were broken, there was an invasion of privacy, there was illegal recording and massive distribution of a personal and private relationship which was none of anybody's business.
Those behind had the motive, the opportunity, the finance, the network and they controlled a certain group of media. They did it not because they 'had the love of Jesus in their hearts' but because it was the 'political kill' of an opponent who was and still is well-respected as a person, politician and ex-minister.
Takjamin: Put two lawyers on opposite sides and you will get two divergent opinions on a very simple statement. Can anybody trust them to say that their call for an EGM is proper?
Pathetic: Liow Tiong Lai is sounding worse than a off-key Chinese opera singer with an equally off tune supporting ensemble. This gruesome threesome has flushed every shred of dignity left to the pathetic MCA has down the political toilet.
This by repeating the plaintive pleas to the bully in the room. Oh, how the founders of this once great party must be turning over in their graves.
Nicholas Lim Ming Xhin: The 'snoop squad' is real. Otherwise, who would have spent the effort and money to record Chua Soi Lek in a hotel room, burn the recording into thousands of DVDs and distribute it across the country?
These things need financial backing as well as political muscle. So it is very relevant for us to find out the truth about the 'snoop squad' and not dismiss it as an outdated matter.
Laws were broken (invasion of privacy, illegal recordings, distributing of pornography) and people need to be held accountable. Is Liow Tiong Lai afraid about the truth of the 'snoop squad' surfacing?
Chua: 'Enough is enough'
Cala: Chua Soi Lek on 'ling dow' . One of the resultant benefits the West learned from the 'enlightenment process' is about the art of independent reasoning for whatever issue at hand. I hope the East is not far away.
Please do not prejudge your ordinary party members and assume that they are a bunch of morons. They read your mind from your repeated actions. MCA president Ong Tee Keat does not earn their respect as in the past.
Therefore, with the party in such shambles, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has every right to intervene and provide the 'ling dow' to bring it to a brilliant pasture. Chua and Ong have forfeited their moral right to govern.
Wong Ting Yew: I do agree with Dr Chua Soi Lek whom in the past I did not quite support. But over this period, he has demonstrated that he has the insight and foresight and has much discernment for the situation.
Democracy is not a religion and is always conditional. I just do not understand the Liow Tiong Lai group. Can they find any democracy even in the Western world? Just give a thought to China. Can democracy be practised there?
Cabele2nowhere: Whether the EGM 2 will cause greater disunity has yet to be seen. But having the present bunch of G4N top leaders going to the branches to explain the Greater Unity Plan (GUP) when the grassroot members are so disillusioned and frustrated is a waste of time
Keturunan Malaysia: A fresh party election as deemed right now would be the mother of all solutions. If there are going to be screaming, bad-mouthing, washing dirty linen in the public, accusations, counter-accusations, chest-beating and sobbing, then so be it.
Let's have them all for the delegates to ponder and decide upon. When all is done and over with, and a newly-elected set of officer-bearers take office, please don't repeat history again.
However, if for whatever reasons, this party election does not materialise, then it is my personal opinion that the persisting call for the Nov 28 EGM - if it takes place - it's the resulting delegate attendance that would be a good gauge of 'support'.
Never mind if it's against the MCA's constitution. After all, it is not going to be counted anyway by the opposing group but yes, just good enough to use the same as a yardstick and hopefully water will find its own level in good time.
