'His credibility and the reputation of his family members were tarnished. The prime minister of a country cannot have such serious accusations hanging over his head without making a credible challenge.'
Who is frivolous: PI Bala or PM Najib?
Sentinel: Fifty-two years of arrogance and talking from a high horse and these leaders still continue to do so oblivious to the fact that it is the rakyat who put them where they are and they are answerable to us.
What to do? These ‘bangsawan' (ruling political elite) will continue to be ‘bangsawan' unless dethroned and that's what all Malaysians shoud be striving for.
Louis: Najib, take Bala to court if what he said was frivolous. To you it might be so, but to the public, these allegations are very serious. When such explosive allegations are levelled at you, it not only affects your credibility but that of the whole nation's as well.
Come on Najib, as a prime minister, the only choice is to sue Bala. As it is, the public's negative perception of you remains.
Teh: Najib's slogans ring ‘Performance Now' and ‘Rule of Law'. These slogans show decisiveness, clarity of purpose and direction and a leadership stance. But when faced with a simple question from reporters about Bala's accusations, he sidesteps with a meek ‘frivolous'.
His credibility and the reputation of his family members were tarnished and he can only brush aside the question? ‘Performance Now', ‘Rule of Law'? Show us then. The prime minister of a country cannot have such serious accusations hanging over his head without making a credible challenge.
Lim Chong Leong: The PM need not answer questions from the press of such nature if he had directed independent investigations be carried out by calling for a royal commission of inquiry into Bala's statements. But alas, he did not. Which is why the whole nation casts their suspicions on him.
Paul Warren: The best bet for Najib is to do nothing. And that is what he is doing. So what if all right-minded people think otherwise? The BTN-trained Malaysians, on the other hand, do not think so. And that is all that matters isn't it?
The MACC is questionable, so are the cops. And don't expect anything from the Attorney-General's Chambers. And so what if we had a royal commission. Now, what's that? What so great about it when its findings are given the same treatment as my trash?
The best advice would be to join the Umno brigade and loot the country. Become an Umno crony. Become another Deepak.
JLo: Please don't be silly. If any prime minister were to answer all the questions thrown at him, especially on issues he has already denied, he/she would not have time to work. So please stop asking Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to respond.
Teoh Kheng Siong: I think the prime minister doesn't even need to respond to private investigator P Balasubramaiam because:
1.If Bala has evidence or proof, he can directly publish this online on the Internet which is so easy to do nowadays. No need to make it out like a myth.
2. The PM has much work to do to re-establish our nations's economy. Better let him focus on it for the sake of all Malaysians.
Allow me to add some personal comment. Bala is actually committing a crime because he is distracting the PM who is struggling to help rebuild the economy of the country for all Malaysians.
SusahKes: In any other developed country, Najib would have had to face a public enquiry over such allegations. But no, not here. That's because the police, the MACC and the judiciary continue to remain under Umno's hegemony.
Is it any wonder then why FDI continues to shun this country? Because it's all about credibility. Let us not even begin to talk about changes when the nation's No 1 leader has serious credibility issues.
That is why perhaps he supported ex-Negeri Sembilan Mohd Isa Samad for Bagan Pinang. A wrongdoer needs the like-minded as his bedfellows so as to remain in power. No amount of sloganeering is going to cover up for Najib. His nonchalant attitude has not escaped the world's attention.
And until we address the issue of credibility in this country, we are always going to be bypassed for serious FDI. Presently Najib, you pose the biggest threat to this country's credibility. We make no bones about it.
Tan Teng Wah: The revelations made by Bala, be they true or false, is a ready and perfect script for a Mafia-like movie a la the Malaysian variant.
By simply brushing off all these serious accusation as ‘frivolous' statements, Najib may hope and dream that it will all just go away. But the whole episode will definitely keep on haunting him as long as he lives.
