One man was killed and 19 workers were injured Monday in an explosion at a newly built Malaysian shopping centre which police said was likely caused by a gas leak.

The blast occurred at the food court of the Aeon Jusco Mall in the southern state of Malacca which had been due to open on Tuesday.
