BTN courses: 'Show cow-head video instead'

vox populi small thumbnail 'Will BTN show the cow-head incident video in their training and label the protestors ‘musuh utama negara' (enemy of the state)?'

BTN portrays Indians as 'violent' and 'dangerous'

Amaso: Hindraf, thanks for highlighting this, otherwise we don't actually know the contents of BTN courses. Please send a copy to PM Najib Razak before he meets the BTN officials when he is back from overseas next week.

Would BTN show the cow-head incident video in their training and label the protestors ‘musuh utama negara' (enemy of the state)? If it does, then the sun would rise from the west (to quote an ancient Chinese proverb), which simply means impossible!

Matahari: My nephew who attended a BTN course as a high-ranking officer would vouch that on the last night of the training, a large photo of P Waythamoorthy was projected on the wall and the participants warned that he was the ‘musuh utama negara'.

They were told to despise him and Hindraf and how he has caused the lost of billions of ringgit of the nation's wealth in his international campaign. He was accused as a traitor.

Ong: Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim has realised his mistake and has regretted his past racist speeches for the BTN. Anwar, on the other hand, has not repented.

He only use the excuse that his racist BTN speeches were made as an Umno minister. When questioned on his past racist BTN speeches, he answered: "I will defend my position (because) that was the position then as Umno vice-president or deputy president."

He is just as evasive as when confronted on his past practice of corruption and cronyism as finance minister. Just like Dr Mahathir Mohamad and other BN/Umno ministers, he too gave government projects to those close to him without public tenders.

Giri: Yes, Anwar did say that, but you see, Khalid did not go through the many years in a real prison, not the ‘comfy' ISA detention camp. He did not go through a complete smashing of his public image with a sodomy charge. He did not feel what it's like for almost all his friends to suddenly turn their backs on him and start talking bad about him.

Anwar went through a lot. And his ideology then was simply due to his colleagues who were such racist bastards, who then completely rejected him. He is now rejecting Umno, and hence rejecting the racist stand he once held dearly to. Anwar has been getting a lot of brickbats recently, but you have to imagine what he has gone through.

MIC's strategy to counter pro-opposition Indian NGOs

Abil: MIC is a spent force, there is no hope. MIC can significantly do something when Umno is blatantly racist as espoused by their past president Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. MIC did not raise an eyebrow on the racist BTN courses.

How do you expect the Indians to support MIC as they are now worst off than ever before? The promise of RM100 million for Tamil schools is not going to alleviate the Indian economic problem. What strategy MIC has to overcome this social problem?

Mikeo: MIC is not relevant to the Indians. S Samy Vellu is history and a group of jokers are hanging around him for handouts from Umno. This country have 52 years of racialist parties and nothing have been done for the Indians.

Any sane Indian will not get associated with MIC. Let's get out of all race-based parties and be proud Malaysians.

Let's fight racism together

Ong: One ugly characteristic of some Malaysians is that they readily play the race card when arguing to support their positions.

One recent example is the Kampung Buah Pala (KBP) issue. Lim Guan Eng happen to be Chinese and the KBP villagers happen to be Indians. There were Indians who accused LGE of not caring for the villagers because they are not Chinese. Some even accused him of being anti-Indian.

From my personal experience, many years ago as a senior government officer with many Malaysians of all races working under me, I found that when I took disciplinary action against a Malay staff, I was accused of being anti-Malay. When I took action against Indian staff, I was accused of being anti-Indian.

It was only when I took action against Chinese staff, there were no complaints of my being anti-Chinese.

Kelantan princes fight over 'succession'

Professor: This is a shameful episode of the sultanate institution. Look into the eyes of the subjects, poor rakyat who practically pay for the extravaganza life of the princes.

Please stop all the nonsense. The rakyat are suffering due to the high cost of living. It's timely that the sultanate and leaders take greater care of the rakyat and avoid unnecessary wastage or extravaganza.

This is 21st century. The rakyat are smart and clever enough to judge the good, the bad and the ugly.
