'Why can't the defence minister go missing too?'

vox populi small thumbnail 'How can the Defence Ministry lose a jet engine? What next, the submarines engines? Why can't the defense minister go missing?'

Defence Ministry to probe missing RM50 mil jet engine

Samasama: Hadn't the incident occurred while Najib Razak was still the defence minister? Full-proof system they said, and yet it could easily be breached by lower rung officers? It is widely suspected that the RMAF (Royal Malaysian Air Force) had provided big holes where large sums of taxpayers money had disappeared ... the submarines, etc.

Noor Arianti Osman: What do you mean ‘missing'? Was it there in the first place?

Wong Chee Kong: If hundreds of millions, even billions of ringgit - including immigration records - can go missing, what's so surprising that a fighter jet engine can also go missing?

Doc: How can the Defence Ministry lose a jet engine? What next, the submarines engines? Why can't the defense minister go missing.

Lahore San: Umno thieves shouting ‘Ketuanan Melayu' are everywhere, even in our armed forces. If the boss steals, he would also promote like-minded criminals to the higher rungs of the military. And from then on, everything falls apart.

If anyone would do a full study of the logistics of the armed forces since the time of Mahathir Mohamad (just to simplify matters), most of it would have gone to cronies while the lower rank and file (who actually shoulder the responsibility when the shooting starts) are paid a monthly pittance called "a salary".

RMAF pilots risk their lives in obsolete and dangerous Nuris while Umno politicians misuse their more modern Blackhawks for campaigning. I wonder how Mr Pink Lips' slogans resonate with the rank and file? Defence minister he was, defensive minister he is.

Umno wants to take over Penang BN from Gerakan

Artchan: They tore his picture, Koh said nothing. They lifted Ahmad's suspension, Koh said nothing. By the way things are going, I say give it to Umno. And Gerakan can be buried forever.

X'roy: This is what we call equal partners, they dictate everything and you have absolutely no say. Gerakan, MCA, MIC, PPP, PBS, you name it, they are all stooges. Their leaders are paid in the millions through ‘projects', if not billions, so is there any surprise how they fight tooth and nail, cloak and dagger for the presidency of these political parties. The present MCA crisis is an example.

These people are paid to sell the communities they claim to represent to Umno. As the component parties breaks up under the present disarray in their ranks, Umno is flexing its muscles.

Mahathir book too hot for authorities

Muhammad Farid Wong Abdullah: KPI for the Customs Department - a decision must be made within two weeks on whether to allow a book to be imported. After the two-week dateline, if no decision is made, Customs must compensate the importer for any storage charges incurred.

Mr Anandha: My bet is that the book will not be banned. The country is in the state of flux in terms of mental evolution. Najib will make sure the book finds itself on the book shelves. Dr Mahathir is a sport. He will find the book invigorating reading.

Dood: Lame. Lame. Lame. Haven't they learned that in this day and age, you cannot shut out information? Ban the book and you'll just make it even more popular, and people will read copies posted online or smuggled through underground channels.

Glaring omissions in NKRA proposal

Nicholas Lim: The NKRA (National Key Result Areas) wants to implement a free media? Were the lab participants keeping in touch with their colleagues in the Home Ministry who recently proposed incredulous guidelines on the media , including the most ridiculous of all - barring the media from reporting "in detail" on criminal cases.

As for wiping out corruption, NKRA should get in touch with Bank Negara concerning the RM10 million illegally wired out of the country by the Negeri Sembilan MB. As for the NKRA to disclose political funding, please get in touch with Bintulu MP cum tycoon Tiong King Sing.

If they can't even act on simple things like these with those already been found guilty by our institutions while others openly admit to " loaning" RM10 million to other politicians, then what hope is there for true institutional reform?
