Calls made to the Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board (CVLB) hotline at 1-800-88-9600 will be answered only during working hours between 9am and 5pm on weekdays.

CVLB director Naimah Ramli said complaints made after office hours, on weekends and public holidays would be recorded and investigated on the next working day.

Callers, who file complaints during working hours, will be asked by hotline personnel to furnish their particulars and telephone number, she said in a statement today.

She was clarifying a TV3 News Bulletin report which said that calls made to the hotline went unanswered.

On complaints against errant motorists, she said callers were required to provide the vehicle's registration number, date, time, location and the type of offence committed.

Naimah said for complaints, which were beyond CVLB's jurisdiction, the cases would be forwarded to other enforcement agencies like the police or the Road Transport Department.

She said complaints could also be relayed via mySMS 15888 or e-mail at aduan@lpkp.gov.my.
