Zulkifli a product of PKR, not Umno

vox populi big thumbnail 'Brazen, defiant, audacious - Anwar Ibrahim taught him all these so that this MP can take on the BN. But Anwar forgot to tell to Zulkifli to spare Pakatan his vitriolic criticisms.'

PKR slaps gag order on Zul Noordin

Tired: Someone commented that Zulkifli Noordin might be a Barisan Nasional agent. If he is, then he is not a smart one, and BN is a dumb master for allowing its agent to behave that way. Agents don't go around committing kamikaze attacks and attracting attention to themselves.

This Zulkifli is the product of PKR, no doubt of that: brazen, defiant, audacious. Anwar Ibrahim taught him all these so that this MP can take on BN. But Anwar forgot to tell Zulkifli to spare Pakatan Rakyat his vitriolic criticisms.

BTN: PKR, face the facts. How could the party wage a protracted war when you have a soldier who does not follow instructions or abide by party principles. Sack him before he ends up destroying the party. What is the big deal with losing one soldier?

Ksn: It appears as though PKR is dragging its feet on this matter for reasons known only to the party. Zulkifli has been given enough rope. Anything short of dismissing him conveys the wrong message to the people who support PKR. His actions are nothing short of eccentric and are very damaging to PKR's image.

Joos: I'm interested in knowing how Zulkifli would defend himself. PKR, let's have him explain himself to the political bureau, record it and post it on YouTube. I'm sure the rakyat is dying to know the rationales behind his thoughts and acts.

Disgusted: It all looks like a mere slap in the wrist - Umno-style - and after a delay of one month. Do it (sack him) now and be done with it. People are waiting with bated breath to see what action will be taken against this recalcitrant MP.

Are they willing to sacrifice one delinquent MP to save the party and Pakatan unity? Or will they delay things and hope people will forget? Challenging your fellow MPs to resign and making police reports are serious matters.

Zul: 'Little pharoahs' out to do me in

Habib RAK: All reasonable Malaysians would be happy to consider your view if what you offer was logical and meaningful. Instead, you are harping on emotions and fanaticism. You are not championing Islam. On the contrary, you are giving Islam a bad name. With the passage of time, you have held on to your hardline stance.

The majority in PKR and Pakatan do not want to be associated with you. So there is nothing to do but release you from PKR so that you can continue with your posturing, which you are entitled to.

The little pharoahs are simply a figment of your own imagination.

Ramakrishnan: Zulkifli, you had your say all this while. Now is the time for you to face the consequences. I hope you will eventually realise that whatever you did was in vain. We are all children of this one mother earth.

Soros was dead right about Mahathir

Zulkefli Ibrahim : It cannot be denied what Dr Mahathir Mohamad has contributed to the nation. Malays rose from the ‘kampungs' to the middle class due to the system of ‘racist' affirmative action.

There are thousands who has became businessmen. Thousands more benefitted from various other affirmative programme (Felda, Felcra, SMEs, etc). There are thousand more who have degrees due to the government's help. Without the action plan that Mahathir implemented, many Malays would still be in the lower rungs of Malaysian society.

Statesman vs a Lunatic: Singapore's Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) and Dr Mahathir are two men of the same era. While LKY has been lauded the world over as a brilliant statesman, Dr M - in the twilight of his life - has to make racist comments to get attention.

Tens of thousands of unemployed local graduates with their pathetic command of English as a result of his educational policies, massive corruption and rent-seeking Umnoputras and their Barisan cronies - these make up the legacy of his 22-year rule. Live long enough and he will see Malaysia exporting maids.

Najib: Speedy decisions a performance benchmark

John Smith: Justice delayed is obviously a travesty, but important decisions rushed such that poor choices are made are even worse.

If Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak really wants to make Malaysia competitive there are three things necessary to focus on:

1. The eradication of all forms of corruption and patronage.

2. Giving sufficient resources to the courts so that cases and appeals can be heard quickly.

3. To bring in efficiency, consultants should be allow to ruthlessly strip out all instances of unnecessary bureaucracy or outdated procedure.

Yuvan: Speedy decisions and successful implementation of them depend entirely on how smooth and efficient the mechanisms and infrastructure are. It is no point talking about "speed" if the systems are weak and corrupted.

Real competitiveness comes from real strength. And real strength can only be achieved by an inherently strong government consisting of truly dedicated and honest leaders.

Malaysia will keep lagging behind in its competitiveness as long as there is undue political influence and outright favouritism in the award of public contracts and projects.

Also, if PM Najib thinks that speedy decisions must always be in his and his government's favour, then he and his government can rest assured that Malaysians will never be able to attain the quality and competitiveness to face global challenges.

PKR 'mouseketeers' prod MACC over Disney trips

Abacus: Yes, I think the PKR boys have a point. MACC contends that their bias is just a perception, but the rakyat knows otherwise. Accusations against former Selangor menteri besar Mohd Khir Toyo has been around since before March 8, 2008, but nothing solid seems to have come out of its investigations.

For the sake of MACC and its credibility, something has to be decided in relation to Khir. Either MACC charges him or tells the whole world that Khir is clean.
