'MIC singing same old tune'

your say ‘It is under the impression that its service to the Indian community should be confined to submitting recommendations to the government.’

MIC to submit recommendations on 10MP by February

KSN: Going by its past actions over 30 years since S Samy Vellu took over MIC leadership, MIC is under the impression that its service to the Indian community should be confined to submitting recommendations to the government.

Has not MIC done the same thing for the last nine plans? What happened to those? Since no one in the government took even a look at them for last 30 years, who is MIC and S Samy Vellu trying to fool and impress?

When everything is lost, this man comes up with the same nonsense to uplift the deplorable conditions of the Indians. Are Samy and MIC to take credit, and do they deserve gratitude, for getting our prime minister to visit the chief minister of Tamil Nadu and Batu Caves for Thaipusam?

Give the Indian community and the country a break.

SusahKes: And the response from Umno will be: File under ‘Ignore’

Dr Suresh Kumar: You claim to be the champion for the poor. You have been the president of MIC for nearly three decades. What have you and the MIC been ‘studying’ all this while? You keep singing this same old tune. The outcome from the government has been to throw some crumbs to the people here and there.

Talk is cheap. Now match it with action, Samy. You say people are waiting in lines to seek your help. Are these the same people who have been waiting outside your office and house for the last 30 years?

Christ Follower: Samy can give as many recommendation as possible - it would still be a waste of time in the eyes of the prime minister.

What has he been doing for these past years when he was a minister? How many of his past recommendation been fulfilled?

Samy cannot keep on telling grandmother stories, because the Indians of today are not the same as those of the 1970s and 1980s, willing to listen to everything he says. Good bye, Samy.

Cala: As a group largely sidelined under the rule of the BN coalition for the past five decades, the Indian community has been systematically victimised. The real state of the economic condition of Indians is relative to the economic performance of the Malay and Chinese communities, respectively.

Therefore, it would make more sense to focus on three measures of Indian conditions in relation to the Malay and Chinese:

i. the ratio of the income of the lowest-earning five percent of Indians to the average income of Indians;

ii. the ratio of the income of the lowest 10 percent of Indians to the average income of Indians; and

iii. the ratio of the low- income earning Indians (first decile) to the highest income of Indian (tenth decile).

Finally, these figures should be measured every five-year period since 1970 until now and then compared with those obtained for Malays and Chinese, respectively.

Gandhi: After this, S Samy Vellu is probably going to go about looking for and selecting candidates with unblemished records and who are ready to selflessly serve the community.

I just watched a video in which P Uthayakumar outlined what to do in case of an election in Perak. In very clear terms, he explained why MIC and Pakatan Rakyat’s Indian representatives would not be able to perform.

If every Indian were to watch that video, Samy would look as such a traitor to the community. Samy should learn from Uthayakumar, but it's too late for him to change.
