'From ICU to the morgue goes justice'

your say ‘And with this Perak MB decision, the federal constitution is now belly-up in the Perak river and floating past the royal palace.’

Perak MB - it's Zambry!

SusahKes: As bad as the decision seems, perhaps it is a blessing in disguise. If Mohd Nizar Jamludin had won, Umno wouldn't have given him or the Pakatan Rakyat team an easy life for remainder of their term. I doubt the Perak royal palace would have been very accommodating either.

All of this shows us that the most important plan of action is to capture the federal government. Then, we can amend the laws to deal with political ‘frogs’ and the many other problems that afflict the entire structure of democracy in Malaysia. For now, let Umno enjoy their victory. They may have won the case, but they lost the people’s hearts.

As Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah put it, Umno practices a sham democracy. It is a matter of time before its house of cards drops permanently. It is also good to confirm the extent of Umno's reach, though this does not bode well for Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy trial.

Ahmad Iqhbal:

Justice went from the intensive care unit to the morgue. The federal constitution is now belly-up in the Perak river and floating past the royal palace.

Multi Racial: The two most senior judges also decided in the previous Zambry vs Sivakumar case in favour of Zambry. That is why I am not surprised with the outcome.

Now, the only hope is for the people to rise up in the next general election to put Malaysia back onto the right track. We shall remember these five Federal Court judges. This decision means we have returned to the feudal era when kings decided on who is menteri besar or prime minister.

Tan Kian Khim:

The people have judged the judges and their judgment shall be handed out at the next general election.

Pathan:

It was expected. Let us now focus on the ‘war’. General election number 13 is just around the corner. We must remain steadfast as BN will not rest until they have wrested control of Selangor and Penang.

Ozzie Jo: No surprise here. To have gotten a fair judgment, now, that would have been a surprise. Don’t be disappointed over an outcome that was expected and don't expect the judiciary to give back to you back what had been stolen all those years ago. Take it back at the next general election!

Habib RAK: This is not a defeat. This forced retreat will enable Pakatan to realign their fulcrum to get better leverage. The judiciary has forced itself to a corner. The only opening left to the judiciary is the door to shame. That will come in time. Remember the blatant Adorna case? Justice will prevail eventually.

Jeffrey Yew: We reject this decision and we shall demonstrate this with the results of the next election in Perak.

BTN: I'm not surprised at all at this unpopular judgement. The obstacles to a fair judgement were too huge to overcome. The BN government machinery spread across all levels of organisations and agencies are too influenced to show any fair judgement.

The only way for all this to stop is at the next general election and that's when all the pretenders and corrupted will be wiped out. It's really a sad day for democracy in Perak. Let this be a lesson to all voters out there. Hamidah Osman must be a nut case for saying the decision is a victory for all Perakians.

Paach Nair:

Perak senior exco Hamidah Osman said the decision is a ‘victory’ for the people of Perak. Nonsense. It’s only a victory for Umno. Perakians want the state assembly to be dissolved. The people’s victory is at the ballot box, not with the court’s decision.

Congratulations, Zambry Abdul Kadir. Dare you dissolve the assembly and be a leader for the true majority? It is cowardly to have a margin of only three ‘BN-friendly’ assembly persons and claim to be a leader for the whole state.

NedersL: The three ‘frogs’ who brought about this situation had better go into hiding for wherever they go, they will be spat on. It's a sad day indeed for this country and, in particular, Perak. I hang my head in sorrow and fear for the future of this country. ‘1Malaysia’, my foot.

Wira:

A sad day for democracy in Perak. A terrible day for Malaysia. The decision on who should form the rightful government in Perak should be left to the people, especially when BN usurped that choice by affecting the switching of allegiance of corrupt representatives.

Avatar: I’m not surprised at this decision at all. The decision by this highest court in the country has set a bad precedent for future cases. So, the king can sack the PM if so he wishes. I can predict that Justice Alauddin Mohd Sheriff will be the next chief justice of Malaysia.

Bosco Philip Anthony: It looks like feudalism has secured its place and the Perak constitution has to be consigned to the limbo of uncertain premises and undefined applications. It is worthless of any further consideration.

Baiyuensheng: It was the day democracy died in Malaysia. I always thought that only the state assembly can sack the menteri besar, not the sultan. Now, the people’s choice can be usurped by the sultan. What a sad day.

Rayfire: Justice is dead. I hope the rakyat remembers this day when their turn comes to vote. An illegitimate government became legitimate today.

Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin shall remain our MB of Perak. Sooner or later, we shall return him to his rightful place. In the meantime, let’s remain calm and focus on how to serve the people. Let them know that Pakatan Rakyat is still strong and cares for them.

Geronimo:

It was a foregone conclusion that the Federal Court will rule in favour of Zambry. What can one expect when five Umno judges are hearing the case? Nizar, it is time for a strategic retreat.

This time, focus on reaching out to the rakyat in Perak so that you and your team will administer Perak again. What we now have is an illegal state government made legal.

Robert L: This verdict was obvious right from the start. This decision puts more power in the hands of the sultan and out of the hands of the rakyat.

Louis:

Zambry should dissolve the state assembly and face the verdict of the rakyat.

Kris: These five judges have entered into the same category and same class as Augustine Paul.

Tan Teng Wah:

Anybody still want to talk about law and the legal system?

Rentap: If the people’s power is taken away, then it becomes a dictatorship. It shows that the people’s choice of government is not respected. Such a government won't last long. The power will be taken back by the people.
