Suicide or murder? The public decides

your say 'Whatever the government pathologists say, the Malaysian public will believe otherwise. You have to be believable to be believed.'

Gov't pathologist disputes Pornthip's findings

Ferdtan: Whatever the government pathologists say, the Malaysian public will believe otherwise. You have to be believable to be believed. We have become too cynical. It's a credibility issue here.

We have lost faith in our system and in our so-called public servants. Now, even our once respected doctors are included in this disgraced group.

Kgen: Government pathologist Dr Shahidan Mohd Noor is now singing the same tune that Teoh Being Hock's death is ‘suicide'. Before that Dr Khairul Azman Ibrahim and Dr Prashant Naresh Samberkar sang a duet to try to convince the public of suicide. What is it with all these government doctors?

Don't they have any professionalism and self-respect left? Can their ethics and soul be bought for money and the promise of promotion? The general public knows that suicide is just not credible under the circumstances so stop treating the public like fools.

The MACC should also beware that a verdict of suicide will be the hammer that will smash forever their credibility in the eyes of the public.

FairMind: In Malaysia, money and power will settle everything. If the earlier two pathologists were so thorough as they claimed in their first autopsy, why only now has the new evidence of bruising at the thyroid, a permanent blood clot at the back of tongue near the neck as well as bleeding on right side of brain and on the right side at the back of brain been found?

Now there will be four pathologists (three local and one foreign) against the word of Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand. Case lost!

SusahKes: Wait for Pornthip to testify. It is unusual to have such a long postponement but not unexpected under ‘1Malaysia'. I've got a funny feeling that they (ie, the ‘wayang kulit' masters) are playing for more time so that they can find whatever means to either rip apart Pornthip's testimony or to further scare her as they did with the MACC police report.

At the end of the day, I feel sorry for Teoh's family. Teoh died long before actress and singer Brittany Murphy died; yet, the results of her autopsy have come out faster than his. It's one thing to lose him; it's an entirely different matter when justice for him keeps getting delayed.

The ‘wayang kulit' masters can try to rush a DNA bill through Parliament in time for Sodomy 2. But when it comes to this, they seemed to have gone on an extended Chinese New Year holiday.

Inspektor Klueso: What will happen next is completely predictable and will fall within the following ranges of outcomes.

1. Even if the two independent pathologists statements are damaging to the MACC, then a couple of low-level (Indians again?) Government officers will be charged for something inconsequential as in the stolen jet engines case, as in the A Kugan case and as in the Altantuya case.

2. The UK pathologist engaged by the MACC may have been compromised already and his evidence will contradict the facts.

3. With some combination of (1) and (2) above, the ‘sweep-it-under-the-rug' procedures will kick in and eventually the whole Teoh episode will die a natural Bolehland justice death. Bets anyone?

Perakean: Yes, I agree. In the end, two low-ranking Indian officers from MACC will be charged for complicity and the case will be postponed a number of times.

When it begins, the ‘offenders' will appear in court with their faces all covered up. They'll be found guilty and sentenced to death. Some poor drug mules from Iran are hanged instead. The two fall guys get away scot-free and laugh all the way to the bank, courtesy of the rakyat's money from MACC.

Sounds familiar? The script has been written and rewritten. So much so that we all can smell a rat from miles away. And that Foreign Minister Anifah Aman has the gall to tell the world that our courts are fair and transparent. What a joke.

Rayfire: The government pathologist will surely echo his previous colleagues' opinions for after all, they all just ‘menurut perintah'. The script is written so just follow the script. I don't think they are allowed to think anymore. I wonder what the other experts will say.

I hope Pornthip will not be singled out. I see the same tactic again - buying time to coach the government pathologists. This will not help as the truth will prevail. The guilty will fumble in court when the time comes. God bless Teoh's family.

Daniel Tan: I hope Pornthip will nail the government for covering up. The more the culprits try to dig to escape, the more they will suffer when judgement day comes. This entire charade is now a cast of many actors who have sold their souls to cover up for what was another attempt by BN to take over Selangor.

P Dev Anand Pillai: The best part is that the new MACC director is asking the public to 'kick his ass' if he does not perform. Although the Teoh episode may have occurred during the time of his predecessor, isn't glaring that the government is now getting this Dr Shahidan to cover up for it?

Now, it will be highly likely that Dr Peter Venezis will agree with Dr Shahidan which will leave poor Dr Pornthip as the only odd one out. The rest of the story will be left to the spin doctors of NST , Star and Utusan Malaysia who will then sell their rubbish to the usually gullible Malaysians who will buy it for RM1.20 and believe it as the gospel truth.

Will new MACC chief Abu Kassim Mohamed live up to his promise that he will clean up the MACC? Teoh's soul will definitely seek justice and the perpetrators will surely pay for their act. It may take time but it will surely come.
