Pakatan unable to challenge BN in S'wak: PM

Ordinary Sarawakian: Don't be so sure, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak. Don't forget that those born in the 1980s will be eligible to vote in the next election. These young Sarawakians are the basis of our hope for freedom from BN and Taib Mahmud's hegemony.

They get their news from the Internet and alternative media and from their friends and peers working abroad or in Semenanjung because they can't earn a living in their own home state.

Just because you go on flying visits and throw around a few shallow goodies, you think your fixed deposit seats of Sarawak are secure?

Sam Chong: Maybe Najib has a point in being so confident. Due to years of neglect by the BN, many people, especially in the rural areas, do not have basic infrastructure like tarred roads, piped water, 24-hour electricity and good communication infrastructure. Therefore they do not have access to alternative media; they don't know what the true picture is (out of their districts).

Unless the splinter opposition parties work together and forget their own selfish interests, it is possible that the uninformed rakyat (which comprises the majority) in Sarawak will continue to be deceived and vote BN.

SusahKes: ‘Asked whether Sarawak chief minister Taib Mahmud had discussed with him the date of the upcoming election, Najib broke out in laughter and said, ‘Even if I discussed (it), I will never tell you.''

In what appears to be a clear signal that the daily pressures of the No 1 Office is getting to him, Najib fell into a laughter when asked a serious question.

Ministry to organise global meet on caning

Doc: This is what happens when smart and intelligent individuals like Shahrizat Abdul Jalil become indoctrinated in Umno politics. They eventually become fools.

I am dumbfounded with Umno's keen interest in organising an international conference on caning. Why, oh, why is Umno so obsessed with their pursuit to ensure Malaysia joins the ‘league of pariah nations'?

While developing and developed countries (which Umno claims to be steering Malaysia towards) are talking about improving human rights, here in Malaysia we are going in the reverse direction and organising a conference on the dismantlement of human/women's rights.

I sincerely wish that the day comes when we can line up all these Umno imbeciles at Padang Merdeka and cane them publicly for humiliating us Malaysians.

Teh: I suggest that the conference include a workshop where each participant is given three strokes of the rotan, starting with Minister Shahrizat. This will give them some real experience about the best practices in caning.

The Malaysian: Shahrizat, do mercy and forgiveness ever cross your mind, or are you such a faultless human being? I cannot see how any normal human being can spearhead such a sick and hideous activity for the world to watch.

Ku Li: Oil royalty ad completely off target

Ghkok: Umno insults us by cheating us of our oil royalty and then using our money to take out advertisements in their own newspapers to insult us some more. How much longer are we going to tolerate this nonsense?

Don't Play God: Since Petronas has been handing over billions of ringgit over the years to Umno, why must the Umno-led government privatise projects like the Plus highway, Penang Bridge, the Penang Second Bridge, the Penang Outer Ring Road, and so on?

The government had enough money to build all these infrastructure projects and not have to make the rakyat pay through their nose for these amenities and facilities by privatising these projects.

Voter-get-Voters campaign: Now who are the real traitors to poor Malays for the past 52 years? Umno or Anwar Ibrahim?

Daniel Tan: Coming from the same Information, Communications and Culture Ministry, whose minister blamed Twitter and Facebook as part of the evil western influence , what else do you expect?

BTN: Instead of taking care of poor Malays (with the oil royalty), they create tensions in Penang by claiming the Malays there are marginalised. Penang was governed by BN for many years. So who is the culprit if it is true that the Malays are suffering now. The one and a half years of Pakatan Rakyat's management?

You be the judge.
