'Honourable of Yip if he has indeed resigned'

your say 'If he's quit for sure, then I salute Yip Sun Onn. If he has quit as a ‘reverse froggy' in order to get something from BN, then BN will reap what it sows.'

MCA's Yip quits as Perlis assemblyperson

Doc: The MCA cracks seem to be deeper then what meets the eye, as we see with the resignation of the assemblyperson Yip Sun Onn. It looks like the MCA infighting is not confined only to the presidential candidates, but has affected near all aspects of the MCA.

While I applaud Yip Sun Onn for his integrity, sadly, the realisation that MCA is at its lag leg of journey is becoming more evident.

Voter-get-Voters campaign 4 PR: Quit for sure? Or a froggy in reverse? If he's quit for sure, then I salute Yip. Quit as a ‘reverse froggy' in order to get something from BN, then that is not the honourable thing to do. BN will reap what it sows.

Maybe all BN MPs and state assembly members should quit altogether so we can have our snap general elections. That will bankrupt Vincent Tan and BN for sure.

Louis: Yip is truly a man of principles. He understands that he was voted in on a BN ticket, he resigns since he is unhappy with the leadership. Will those so-called independent frogs have the same integrity as Yip? Let us wait and see.

Changeagent: A note to Zahrain Mohd Hashim, Zulkifli Noordin, Tan Tee Beng and the three Perak frogs: this is what you should have done when you are unhappy with your own party's leadership.

Bravo to Yip Sun Onn for giving the voice back to the local constituents to decide who the next elected MP should be.

Sarawakman: Yip Sun Onn, I salute you. Irrespective of the reasons you quit, at least you are giving those who voted for you to choose someone else. You are a man of principle, unlike those vile and venomous frogs (from PKR).

Perak Boleh: I respect you, Yip, for resigning and allowing the voters another chance to elect their state assemblyperson. This is the way, if you do not agreed with your party's policy or your leaders.

If you follow the footstep of the Pakatan Rakyat frogs, you and your family members shall live in shame for the rest of your lives.

Ck : Yip is not a froggie like others who jump party and become independent. He is a real gentleman who vacate his seat due to MCA problems. He is free to join any party now, especially PKR or DAP, and still be a gentleman.

I think PAS should contest this seat, not PKR.

Che: "The party and the people still need his service." Coming from Perak MCA chief Chew Mei Fun, this is really laughable and shows the depth of hypocrisy she has fallen into. If the people still need Yip, why did MCA remove him as state exco?

To think that I used to admire this humble girl-next-door politician, as the media used to portray her as being. But power corrupts, and in many ways, politics has truly corrupted Chew.

She cried (together with Wee Ka Siong) for MCA, while sharpening her knife for Ong Tee Keat. Now she is again shedding crocodile tears for Yip. Chew, I cry for you, for your family, for your admirers and most importantly, for your country for what you have become.

Azmil Tayeb: MCA is now in a mess and is quickly decomposing. Look at the number of those contesting. 101 contesting for 31 places. If this is not about being power crazy and seeking to be rich, then I don't know what it is.

I hope more will join Yip. Fortunately, the MCA crisis does not affect the Chinese populace, but only party members and supporters. Whoever heads the MCA is defunct and irrelevant.

Cliew: Ong Tee Keat had better be responsible for this, as removal of him as state exco would not have been possible without the direction and knowledge of the MCA president. As his successor (Dr Por Choo Cho) is now in Dr Chua Soi Lek's camp, this proves once and for all how the ‘Great Unity Plan' has instead divided the party.

Anyway, if the reason for his resignation is truly due to being replacement, then it is another sad case of personal interests overtaking the interests of the party.

Amaso: To Yip, the MCA froggie, you jumped at the wrong time. MCA leaders are too busy with their central committee election they have no time for you. Your jump is nothing in the eyes of Umno, as MCA is also nothing as far as Umno is concerned.

Worst of all, you have betrayed your voters, the majority of whom are Malays. Umno will surely be mad at you and MCA.

Karma: We would like to hear what DPM Muyiddin Yassin has to say about this resignation. Applying his own statement against PKR and if he is consistent, he will say, "MCA and its own member have lost trust in BN and Umno. They will rather give up their position than to become a frog like many others."

It will be sick if he resigns and joins PKR or DAP. It will be sicker if they accept him. Like an employee of a firm, if you are not happy, you quit. Don't hold on to it so you can speak badly about others (like Zahrain Hashim).

Norman Fernandez: For this seat and at this juncture, PAS - not PKR - should contest this seat. Let's face it, the present shenanigans by Zulkifli Nordin, Zahrain and other ills do not inspire confidence in PKR.

Kgen: If Pakatan can grab this seat (from MCA), it means the winds of change are with Pakatan. If we add the votes for the independent and PKR candidate, Yip's majority would be only 968, so it is not impossible.

Rumi Manecksha: Yip has resigned with immediate effect. Is it now legal for the MB or anyone else to ask him to reconsider or withdraw his resignation? Don't do so,Yip.You will lose your self-respect.

Lim Chong Leong: All right, election fever once again! Let's see if the rakyat understands and accepts PM Najib Abdul Razak's 1Malaysia slogan.
