Let the French deliver justice to Altantuya

vox populi small thumbnail 'The real culprits must be found and punished. If Malaysian courts cannot get things done, let the French justice system get to the bottom of things.'

French courts asked to probe submarine deal

Teh: Altantuya Shaariibuu's ghost refuses to rest in peace. She wants justice. We want to see justice served. The real culprits must be found and punished. If Malaysian courts cannot get things done, let the French justice system get to the bottom of things.

Michael Ng: I am getting all fired up with hope that justice will be done for the poor Mongolian woman. But will the long arms of irresistible corruption reach the French prosecutors?

Rajm: Abdul Razak Baginda fled the country upon his release from jail, saying that he wanted to complete his studies, private investigator P Balasubramaniam fled the country fearing for his life. So surely there are many hands behind all these. There is no investigation how the C4 was obtained. Karma dictates that the cat will be out from the bag one day and that day is not far.

Cala: All Razak Baginda and his Perimekar need is a strong cable to the politicians to make that kind of obscene profit. As alleged, he may not know anything, still he can make RM534.8 million in commission which works out to be 11 percent of the cost of the submarines. We now see how Umnoputra abuse the once noble NEP.

Kgen: It is unfair to say that Perimekar has absolutely no expertise in submarine construction, service and logistics. They are experts in sinking vast amount of public funds into the murky depths away from public view. They are experts in 'financial submarines'.

This has all the elements of an action thriller movie starring Najib Razak, no?

Local branches disappointed, but will accept Kamalanatha n

P Dev Anand Pillai: This is the typical attitude of most MIC branch chairpersons and key players at the division and branch levels - first, it will be a drama play where they say they will boycott the elections if their preferred candidate is not chosen, and then when the ‘supreme' party selects one of them, they support blindly.

So it doesn't matter how many Kugans die, or how many severed heads of cows are paraded, these people will always be there to support the supremacists. They seem happy that they will never be treated as an equal by their supremacist masters. After being subjugated by the ‘British Raj', they now are being kept at the pleasure of the ‘Tuans'.

Whilst they jostle for their idols to be the candidates, there are still Indians in Malaysia who are not documented after three generations, and yet they support BN. The young fall into the same vicious cycle, and they too repeat the same mistakes.

Petestop: As expected, these MIC branch leaders sold their dignity in exchange for a backdoor ministership. There is no need to beat around the bush further, MIC is nothing but running dogs for Umno.

Dr Mahathir to give Hulu S'gor a miss

Ksn: This is bad news for Pakatan and PKR. If S Samy Vellu does the same thing as Dr Mahathir Mohamad, it will make Pakatan's situation worse. These two guys are not wanted by anybody anywhere but that idea does not seem to get to them.

I hope all voters, especially the Indians, realise the fact that these leaders are responsible for their present plight arising from their deliberate neglect for 30 years. I am sure someone will remind the Indians and other voters about this and if they still vote BN, the Indians deserve what they got, or more aptly what they did not get.

Ipohcrite: My, am I disappointed that the good doctor chose not to campaign. That would certainly seal victory for PKR... He said there could be "others" who will campaign using his name, and I imagine the "others" include his son, Mukhriz, but he wouldn't know anything about that now, would he?

KL cuts off gasoline supplies to Tehran

Arul PSM: It's disgusting to have a PM on his knees. Next Prime Minister Najib Razak may send troops to Afghanistan. Did Najib demand the two Malaysians arrested without trial in Guantanamo to be released? Or was it just a trip of carrying balls and shopping.

Malaysiaboleh: I am really sorry to say this but looking at the comments here, one might be mistaken in taking readers of Malaysiakini to be homespun boys completely out of depth in international affairs.

(Iranian President Mamhoud) Admadinejad has been here more than once, always with his big smile and waving to the crowd. He is never tired of attempting to win over support for the confrontations his country is trying to bring about.

Our PM has put forward a clear position. Many other Muslim countries have not. Iran is heading for a disaster of its own making and it is important we are not ambivalent about where we stand. Young people in this country should recognise that, and in spite of the grouses, you are lucky.

Put yourself in Iran, with the students and ordinary people in mid-2009 who were only trying to put a different point of view across. No one really knows how many were killed. For that matter, you would never have the opportunity to air your comments in this way in Iran.

Lahore San: The IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) and NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty) apparently does not extend to Israel. It's just another one of the double standards enforced by the Americans on Israel's neighbours.

Gen2: Najib is the only Malaysian who is desperate to be seen shaking hands with US President Barack Obama. I bet he doesn't wash his hands for a week after that. That's why he hired Apco and paid RM77 million of taxpayers money for that handshake.
