'Invisible hand working overtime in Sibu'

vox populi small thumbnail 'I am one of them who was shocked to find out that those who used to cast their votes at SMK Sacred Heart for Sibu have, unknown to them, been now moved to Lanang.'

DAP to win Sibu contest by 500 votes

Angela Chiew: Have you considered the migration of votes from Sibu constituency (P212) to the Lanang constituency (P211) in this by-election?

Yes, I am one of them who was shocked to find out that those who used to cast their votes at SMK Sacred Heart for Sibu have, unknown to them, been now moved to Lanang. Mind you, about 70 percent of those votes are DAP supporters.

The "invisible hands" are working overtime to make sure they win this time.

Kgen: I have great respect for Ong Kian Ming's political analysis, but his prediction does not take BN's cheating into account. His predictions would be accurate if not for the outright cheating as BN doesn't fight fair.

Saengch: What about the (1) the 2,600 army and police postal voters? (2) and the outstation voters who are likely young and Pakatan Rakyat supporters and who are not likely to return to vote (at least fewer as compared to 2008)?

They won't be able to vote postal as our postal voting system does not support them. The two issues are really two sides of the same coin of a dysfunctional postal voting system.

Anonymous: Ong, I enjoyed your analysis. My reading of your analysis, however, is that it is based on what exist on paper and you have not been to the ground. Sibu's election result has always been influenced a great deal by election betting, which not many know unless they are actually on the ground.

Liaw Sche Chan: Dear Sibuans, don't just think of Sibu issues. A setback for BN will force them to rethink:

1. A fairer national policy for education, healthcare, civil service, projects, open tender for everything (why no tender for football betting licence?).

2. Genuine effort to eradicate corruption.

3. Effective poverty eradication plan, not just cosmetic projects that makes the country loses even more money.

4. Effective rural electrification project. Do you know the rural school power supply project cost taxpayers a bomb but are not realistic? It is only an excuse for them to siphon off the money.

OM7: BN will win this one because the opposition are once again failing to prove that they are a coalition that can work together. Most people see this as the main issue.

Gerakan: 'Let a non-Muslim head PAS'

MW: I also challenge you, Gerakan, ask Koh Tsu Koon to resign, remind him of what he said after March 2008 about not joining cabinet.

Your party has no integrity and no right to challenge others. PAS might not allow non-Muslims full members, but at least that is more transparent than your supposedly 'full membership' status in BN though completely toothless in shaping policies.

X-Umno: Gerakan, why don't you ask Umno to have its president from among non-Muslims? Do you dare to suggest this?

Doc: I wonder if Gerakan is trying to stay significant as a BN component party by doing what all irrelevant BN components parties are doing, which is barking at the opposition party even it means making pointless comments just to please their all-powerful leader Umno.

Jiminy Qrikert: Gerakan is bankrupt and totally irrelevant to Malaysian politics. So they send a little boy to make stupid statements to divert attention from the real issues. The one and only issue is that Gerakan is already putrefying... Geez, what a stupid challenge.

PJ Guy: Why not take on your saudara-saudara in Umno and MCA for their corruption and abuse in office? It looks like all of you are still unable to digest the fact that Gerakan has been totally rejected by the people.

Why pick on PAS on irrelevant points? PAS is a party based on Islamic principles, and they have every right to decide the internal affairs of their party.

Quit as MP: PKR Wangsa Maju to Wee

Geronimo: If this guy has so much of principles in him, then he should also resign as the MP for Wangsa Maju. He has to walk the talk and maybe, he can still leave the political scene in a dignified manner.

He claimed that the latest 'sand' issue was 'the last straw' that forced him to quit PKR. The way he said it is as though there were many issues on corruption before this and no action was taken despite having brought them to the attention of the Selangor menteri besar.

What rubbish! So far, it was only the 'sand' issue that has been highlighted, and the MB has already given the go ahead for a police report to be made and investigations to be carried out by Select Committee on Competency, Accountability & Transparency (Selcat). What more does he want?

This guy is up to no good and to quit the party just before the Sibu by-election raises a lot of questions. Do the honourable thing, Wee Choo Keong, resign.

Dingy: Wee Choo Keong was from Kamping Cina, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. This is one man nobody should trust. All Kelantan Chinese hated him.

I was very disappointed when Anwar Ibrahim invited him to stand in Wangsa Maju in the 2008 general election. He created problems for DAP. So you can expect him to do the same in PKR. His political career was almost over when he was kicked out of DAP.

So now it's goodbye for Wee. He is definitely waiting for time until the next general election. Good bye and good riddance.
