A police report has been lodged against Prime Minister Najib Razak this morning at the Termerloh district police headquarters for alleged mismanagement of Felda's cash reserves which had seen a dramatic plunge over the years.

NONE President of PAS-linked Persatuan Anak Peneroka Felda Kebangsaan or National Association of the Children of Felda Settlers (ANAK) , Mazlan Aliman ( right ) said that a similar report has also been lodged against the deputy minister in the prime minister's Department, Ahmad Maslan.

Mazlan said that Ahmad's explanation in Parliament last Wednesday on how the Felda cash reserves had dropped from RM4.08 billion in 2004 to RM1.35 billion last year, did not make sense.

Ahmad had reportedly said that the difference was used for welfare purposes - RM2 billion for replanting crops, RM603 million for interest-free housing loans, RM253 million for the Sabah poverty eradication fund and RM662 million for the new Felda headquarters.

"It's such a big issue and it involves the people's money. Where has the money gone to? I hope that the police will investigate this matter," said Mazlan when contacted by Malaysiakini.

Mazlan, along with four other Felda smallholders from Pahang had filed the report at the Temerloh district police headquarters this morning, accompanied by 30 other supporters.

He had also vowed that other police reports will be lodged around the country on the matter.

NONE "The smallholders' money have been wasted at the government's whim. Is it true that the money was spent in the public's interest, or for BN government's political activities because Felda is their lifeline," he said, quoting from the police report.

The report also alleged that the mismanagement and abuse of power had affected 112,635 smallholders and a new generation of 800,000 Felda settlers.

The government had come under heavy fire over the issue when former deputy minister of land and cooperatives from 1999 to 2004, Tan Kee Kwong in an open letter alleged mismanagement and questionable practices in the organisation.

Klang MP Charles Santiago had also lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission last week.
