your say'Malaysia is already a divisive society without Donald Lim suggesting that Chinese also set up a race-based NGO like Perkasa. Coming from a MCA vice-president, it is really irresponsible of him to even suggest it.'

Donald Lim calls for Chinese Perkasa

Alan Goh: Donald Lim, there is no necessity to set up a Chinese Perkasa to counter the bird-brained, loud mouth and empty vessel ‘Raja Katak' Ibrahim Ali. Even Khairy Jamaluddin, the Umno Youth leader, brands him a ‘jaguh kampong'.

Each time his picture appears in the media, you could see Ibrahim's big, wide mouth, ugly mugshot. The only English he speaks and understand is ‘s**t, s**t, s**t'. Perhaps Ibrahim should contest in a Klang Valley seat to find out how popular he is with the liberal Malays.

Anonymous: The Chinese in Malaysia are going cuckoo. We have Wee Choo Keong as Chinese Ibrahim Ali; Ridhuan Tee Abdullah as Chinese mamak, and now we have Donald Lim calling for a Chinese Perkasa.

Wira: This shows how much MCA is drifting away from the people they claim to represent. No, I don't think the Chinese want to counter extremism with extremism, nor fight racism with racism.

Umno will happily ride on this and very soon, such confrontations will generate a lot of heat and lead to Operation Lallang II, where Perkasa/Umno/MCA leaders escape to have their holidays in Australia while PKR/PAS/DAP leaders get locked up under the Internal Security Act.

No, I don't believe any Chinese NGO would support such a lose-lose proposition by MCA. Let's work together with Pakatan Rakyat and other Malay-based parties to get our people, especially the rural Malays, to realise that the root of all our sorrows is corruption, cronyism and rent-seeking. Our institutions are being damaged because of these three.

Kgen: The Indians have Hindraf, the Malays have Perkasa, so what shall we call the Chinese version? How about Chindraf?

Malaysia will be carved into racial ghettos - not a pretty picture for a nation. But this serves BN's political agenda as divide-and-rule is their forte. Each race for itself was what kept BN in power for so long.

Hindraf and Perkasa help to propagate BN's rule. If the nation wants to achieve its full potential, extremist groups have no place in the mainstream. Heaven forbid that we should start a Chindraf.

VP Biden: Instead of moving forward, this ‘duck' is asking the Chinese to go back to where exactly Umno/MCA wants them to be - to fight a cause based on race. As for the Pandan constituency, don't forget that OTK (former MCA chief Ong Tee Keat) scrapped through. You (Donald Lim) will be thrown out should you contest in Pandan.

Habib RAK: As they say, birds of a feather flocks together. Like Umno and MIC, MCA is also stuck in reverse gear. They simply don't know how to get rid of incompetent and destructive personalities within their party. The latest to hog the limelight for incompetency is Donald Lim.

Though rejected by the people, he was appointed a senator to become a deputy minister. His answers in Parliament were downright shameful and all he can do is blame the government officers for stupid answers, but he chose to read them nevertheless.

Khairy Jamaluddin of Umno said that Donald Lim's answers were the worst he had ever heard in Parliament. Now Donald Lim confirms his stupidity by propagating that MCA should have a racist organisation like Perkasa to represent the Chinese. Stupidity begets stupidity.

Jiminy Qrikert: Here we go again, the classic Umno-BN engineered divide-and-rule strategy. Stir rubbish amongst the community and hope it raises a stink, emotions will heat up, tempers flare and confrontations explode.

Then Umno-BN comes in to keep the opposing parties apart by throwing crumbs both ways and placating and manipulating these communities with handouts, while Umno laughs all the way to the bank. Lim is just a functionary carrying out the instructions of Umno-BN to stir up rubbish with the Chinese Malaysians now that they have unleashed Perkasa and Ibrahim Ali.

Given that he has announced his intention to run in GE13 as long as he is in Selangor, I will be there to heckle the hell out of this racist imbecile.

Tan Kian Khim: Of late, MCA seems to be getting its political strategy advice from the cartoon characters Beavis and Butthead. Thank goodness, Donald Lim is not advising his neighbour on how to put out a house on fire: "Just pour some petrol on it."

Either Donald Lim is as stupid as he sounds (and that is a very high probability given his other recent statements) or he is cynically playing the usual BN race card - which is to highlight and aggravate racial-religious tensions in Malaysia. Either way, he is just driving yet another nail into MCA's already-buried political coffin.

Cala: Is Selangor MCA ready for 13th general election? Let me cover it at two levels.

First, as a party which is subservient to Umno, it has very little hope for success no matter how hard it wishes to prepare for the polls. At the heart of the issue, MCA as a party is dysfunctional and is seen embedded in the Umno culture of corruption, self-interestedness, and cronyism. The voters will dump its candidates yet again come the 13th general election.

Second, as an engineer, Donald Lim is a fairly seasoned politician. But he plays better golf (he is a single-handicapper and a member of Saujana Golf Club a long time ago) than he plays politics. Devoid of any original idea, or any vision that can draw supporters to him, he will be more at home serving as a senior welfare officer for the poor and the needy (the way Lee Lam Thye does after leaving DAP).

In sum, MCA is not at the recovery trajectory to be ready for the 13th GE.

Tan Lei: It is the same old rhetoric from a recycled politician who should have been put out to pasture. These end-of-shelf-life politicians don't know when to quit. MCA might just get a chance to rejuvenate itself after a stint in the opposition benches and after all these old dinosaurs fade into the sunset. MCA needs to be resuscitated with fresh young blood.

Takung: "In highly educated areas such as Petaling Jaya, the electorate tends to tilt towards the opposition." Donald Lim, is it because it's harder to fool the educated?

Karma: Perkasa dares to challenge the non-Malays because they have the clear support of Umno. They can even parade on the street and burn as many effigies of Chinese leaders as they want. No arrest or ISA will be used against them. It is an Umno decoy and MCA is simply falling for it.

We wish all Chinese to ignore Donald Lim's call for Chinese Perkasa and return hatred with love in the face of Perkasa's attack. This is truly Chinese.

Rubystar: Malaysia is already a divisive society without Donald Lim suggesting that Chinese also set up a race-based NGO like Perkasa. Coming from a MCA vice-president, it is really irresponsible of him to even suggest it.

Look at last year's burning/bombing of the churches. The Christians reacted with the grace of a forgiving people, not an eye for an eye. We must have the understanding that a lot of race-based issues are sprouted from only a certain section of the people and nowadays most of us would like to live in harmony.

Voice: Everybody who watched the World Cup must have noticed that the first thing both football teams do before their match was to show a placard to the spectators in the stadium and to the world at large with the wording, "Say No To Racism".

So, let's say no to racist organisations like Perkasa and say no to race-based political parties.
