MCA leaders deny plans for a Chinese Perkasa
Multi Racial: This is the same cheap and old fashion politics using the good cop-bad cop approach. Previously the party used another vice-president to voice their support on legalise gambling. Since there wasn't any adverse criticism, no other top brass from MCA needed to come out to play the good cop.
Now they use another VP to voice the views on Chinese Perkasa. Since the reaction was adverse, immediately other MCA's top brass came to play the good cop. We've had enough of this from Umno for years. Please lah , stop such cheap politics and be serious about developing the country and fighting corruption.
Dood: I don't think Donald Lim can get away with the "media misquoted me" excuse this time, seeing that six major dailies all reported the same thing.
Cala: To my mind, Donald Lim actually has four options. First, as he has argued before, return fire for fire. But this strategy is sure to fail in a number game.
Second, maintain status quo. Not to do anything from the attack of Perkasa is seen as being useless in the eyes of voters.
Third, accept the situation as it is, but work round Perkasa hoping that the attack is less severe. Still, like the previous options, MCA is deemed a lame duck.
Fourth, keep your cool, and look out for the opportunity for a counter attack. Unfortunately, there is not going to be any under the Umno-BN setup. All four options spell troubles to MCA, and so none can be adopted.
What then is the real option? Sit and wait until the passing of 13th general elections, then join Pakatan Rakyat afterwards as a small party. Like it or not, it has an asset-base of RM 2 billion which can come in handy for the initial operation of the new government.
MorningSun: Here's a way to dealing with Perkasa: Don't say hello to their leaders, don't shake their hands, don't chat with them, don't smile or stare at them, don't listen to or argue with them.
Rubystar: Donald Lim, you are beginning to look comical. You don't need other top brass to defend you by saying you are misquoted.
The better strategy is to make a clean breast out of it and said that you are sorry and that you might mean it in another context. Next time, don't try to be a maverick and think that by standing up unnaturally you will get notice. You are just a back-door senator, so just get on with your work.
Keturunan Malaysia: When you are a leader, your personal views that shouldn't to be associated with a party and/or the government are better left stuck in the throat.
As for being misquoted, say what you meant to say and mean what you say. In order to achieve this, make sure your tongue does not split, more so when you let loose the words from your mouth.
Tan Kian Khim: "He/I was misquoted" is the single most overused lame excuse by Umno-BN leaders to try and do belated damage control after one of their leaders is caught making an idiotic/offensive/self-incriminating statement.
KLSCAH will not spearhead a 'Chinese Perkasa'
Chipmunk: If Ibrahim Ali thinks that Donald Lim's statement is extremist and promoting racial tension, then why on earth did Perkasa exist in the first place? So is Perkasa indirectly saying that Umno/BN is not capable of safeguarding Article 153?
As far as I am concerned, Perkasa is the most dangerous organisation and ‘Katak' Ibrahim must be detained under ISA.
Kgen: Hindraf and HRP, take note of Kuala Lumpur-Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall's multi-ethnic views and learn. Pursuing a one race agenda is a dead end in a multiracial society. Every race for itself is not going to work. It hasn't worked for the past 53 years.
Sunnyd: All we need is another racist NGO to make things right. Any other bright ideas?
'Military intelligence officers tortured me'
Lover Boy: If these two Indian gentlemen did commit the theft, I say syabas ! I find it hard to believe that they have such connections to pull this through. N Tharmendran, just hold on, the torture will make you stronger. You have nothing to fear.
Steve Ong: I pity the Indian Malaysians as they are always used as scapegoats whenever a big scandal arise. What are the Indian political parties doing about this? Why are they not questioning the authorities about this? What is MIC chief S Samy Vellu doing to help his fellow Indians?
Disgusted: If he actually did steal the aircraft engines and sold them for millions, he should have had the RM150,000 for the bail. So far, no one knows where the payment for the engines went unless he and the other accused are scapegoats and some other people in or outside the Air Force have made away with the money fixing the two as fall guys.
The whole thing stinks of a cover-up similar to the Altantuya Shaariibuu case.
C4: I don't understand why our government did not concern itself about the torture. I've already heard a lot of cases of torture being committed during investigation, yet they still turn a blind eye to it.
