'Teoh Beng Hock, this old man just shed tears for you and for your family - and not the least all Malaysians.'
Solemn atmosphere at Plaza Masalam
Ghkok: Let us all remember the brutality that Teoh Beng Hock went through, but most of all, his courage never to yield. For if Teoh Beng Hock by himself, on that floor, in that building, at that time, have the courage to withstand the brutal forces of repression, surely all of us must summon our courage to eliminate the forces of repression from the face of Malaysia.
Surely it is our duty to do the right thing - vote the BN out of Putrajaya, take control of the police and MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission), institute and inspire an independent judiciary, and finally, obtain justice for Teoh Beng Hock and thousands of others who are victims of the repressive BN regime.
Dappy: Lee Lan (Teoh's younger sister), your impassioned plea for the people's support to be together in the fight for justice for Beng Hock brought tears to our eyes and pain in our hearts. TBH has not died in vain, he shall always be our hero and forever remembered for his bravery and sacrifice.
Isaac Ho: In a moment of reverential silence, I pray that the soul of Teoh Beng Hock will rest in eternal peace and that justice be done, and the perpetrators of this dastardly crime which cause his death be brought to book in due course.
YF: Teoh's death is a reminder to us that all is not well in our country. And the worse part is no reforms have been made to clear up this mess. The only choice left is the coming elections.
Ng Seng Tong: My appeal to all lawyers and the judge involved in this case: be true to your conscience, examine your heart, do not serve with mixed motives, do not swear by what is false, live with integrity, live in humility and live in honesty. Fear God for that is the beginning of wisdom. And God is not watching from a distance.
Anonymous2: At times, it is hard to accept a loved one's passing, more so if the loved one departed in such a tragic manner like TBH. The reality is that no one can bring back TBH alive. The sooner the family get over this episode of their lives, the happier they will be. If not, the suffering will continue for the rest of their lives.
If the family not able to forgive, let's forget the event and spend more quality time to bring up TBH junior. Looking at the progress and conduct of the inquest, I place no hope in it but this doesn't mean the murderer(s) can get over this easily. They have their conscience to answer.
Anonymous: Yasmin Ahmad, who passed away shortly after the death of TBH, had commented in her blog - "If he was murdered, his parents/family have the right to decide the fate of his murderer/murderers. In an Islamic state, the perpetrators will ‘sampai ajal' too."
Cala: If one studies history, one would realise that justice may not prevail in short run. Look at the millions of victims died during the Cultural Revolution, to them justice comes only after the death of Mao in 1976.
Keturunan Malaysia: Teoh Beng Hock, this old man just shed tears for you and for your family - and not the least all Malaysians.
Penangites rally at Speakers Square to remember Teoh
Swipenter: (Penang Municipal councillor) Ramlah Bee Asiahoo is 101 percent correct when she reminded us that TBH died for all of us and not just for his political party.
No one person (nor any living creature) does not cherish freedom from oppression, from cruelty, from being cheated, from racism and religious bigotry, freedom to live our lives peacefully and make full use of our potential as a Malaysian and a human being to contribute to our country and society.
IRB to take soft approach on 'tax evader' KDSB
Sarajun Hoda: I wonder how the IRB (Income Revenue Board) would have acted if the defaulters would have been from the opposition camp? Just because the owner of the company (Tiong King Sing) is the Backbenchers Club chair and a BN big shot, IRB talks of non-confrontational approach.
Who is behind Faizal Abdullah (KDSB chief executive officer) that makes him so arrogant?
Agent99: RM330 million is the tip of the iceberg. The scandal actually worth RM12 billion and I wonder whether this will ever be solved. Even Deepak does not have the carpet that is big enough to sweep this major scandal under.
Kumara: Not to worry, knowing Malaysian politics, IRB will end up paying KDSB.
