The peninsula-based People's Progressive Party (PPP) has assured Sarawak BN component parties it is spreading its wings to the state as a BN component party and not to interfere in their affairs.

kayveas hq pc 050609 "We are here at the invitation of the Sarawak people. Every member and every committee member in all (PPP) branches in Sarawak is comprehensively Sarawakian," said PPP President M. Kayveas ( right ) in Sibu last night.

He spoke at the inauguration of the first council of the party's Sibu Dudong Branch and a Sarawak state joint commission dinner.

Kayveas said that if opposition parties could venture into BN-held states, then it was unfair to prevent BN component parties from coming to assist fellow BN parties.

Earlier, PPP Sibu Dudong Branch Chairman Datuk Hii Hua Seng said the PPP hoped to help Sarawak BN component parties in the campaign during future state and parliamentary elections in the BN spirit of solidarity and cooperation.
