9.30am (Galas): Works Minister Shaziman Mansor meets BN’s by-election director Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah at the latter's residence. Shaziman will then go on a tour of the state’s Public Works Department work sites throughout Gua Musang where roads are being resurfaced in Taman Wangi and Kampung Sungai Kepa.

10am (Batu Sapi): BN candidate Linda Tsen visits Kg Istimewa with Umno Wanita Shahrizat Jalil)

10.25am (Galas): 'Malaysians for Beng Hock' ( right ) hold a press conference lambasting the MCA for the rough handling of one of their activists in Gua Musang last night.

Last night, Soh Cher Hai, the brother-in-law of the late Teoh Beng Hock was pushed to the ground as he tried to meet with Senator Heng Saie Kie at an MCA event.

Cher Hai, the brother of Beng Hock’s wife Cher Wei, suffered minor injuries as a result of the fall and tore his jeans.

Other than Cher Hai, the delegation is made up of seven other activists led by Ng Yap Hwa. They are in Galas to meet with members of the cabinet and MPs to get support for their petition calling for the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC), a royal commission be set up to investigate death in custodial deaths, and the enactment of a Human Rights Act.

11am (Batu Sapi): PKR's Anwar and DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang hold a press conference, repeating that a Pakatan Rakyat win in Batu Sapi will pave the way for the coalition’s takeover of Putrajaya.

11.30am (Galas): PAS by-election machinery advisor Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdul Rahman defends the party's decision to pay outstation voters up to RM250 to subsidise the transporation costs of voting on Nov 4.

NONE Wan Abdul Rahim said it had long been practised by Umno and MCA.

"If voters are smart, they can take from both sides. That's been a norm for Kelantanese.

"Maybe they can request it from PAS, Umno, even MCA provides (such payments). If you get RM200 three times, (you'd get) RM600, that's quite a lot.

"This is not a strange thing. There's nothing (in the laws) that says they can stop them (Kelantanese from claiming from rival sides," he told a press conference.

12pm (Batu Sapi): SAPP president and Batu Sapi candidate Yong Teck Lee's debate programme at the Hakka Hall starts, but there is still no sign of Chief Minister Musa Aman.

NONE Yong called for the debate two days earlier, demanding that Musa explain his position on 'Sabah for Sabahans' and 'Borneonisation'.

The SAPP president went so far as to publish a full-page advertisement in local dailies to inform the public of today's debate.

12pm: BN’s Tsen meets members Women’s Association of Sandakan at Sabah Hotel. 

12.30pm (Galas): MCA Senator Heng Saie Kie holds a press conference in Gua Musang Old Town.

1.05pm (Batu Sapi): PKR candidate Ansari Abdullah arrives at Dewan Hakka in Sandakan to watch SAPP’s Yong debate with Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman.

Ansari at sapp debate 1.20pm (Batu Sapi): Ansari leaves Dewan Hakka after learning that the debate has been called off at 1pm due to a no-show by Musa.

Ansari returns to the Sanbay Hotel where he had planned a separate debate with Yong and Tsen, scheduled to start at 2pm.

When contacted, Yong tells Malaysiakini by SMS: "Ha ha ha! Ansari got his time wrong. PKR's booking of the same hall is 7pm, not 1pm."

NONE 2pm (Batu Sapi): PKR’s Ansari holds debate at Sanbay Hotel. Anwar will give a ceramah later. Khalid Ibrahim's holds program with child prodigy Adi Putra at same venue.

2pm: BN’s Tsen visits Kg Bokara.

2.11pm (Batu Sapi): PKR holds ceramah at Sanbay Hotel ballroom, attracting around 500 people, most of them bumiputera.

Among PKR leaders already present are PKR’s Ansari, MB Khalid Ibrahim, PKR election director Fuziah Salleh, PAS vice-president Mahfuz Omar, Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad, PKR treasurer William Leong, PKR strategy director Tian Chua.

NONE Ansari is explaining to the crowd his manifesto.

Fuziah scoffs at SAPP’s Yong for declining to debate with Ansari.

“If you don't dare to debate even here, how are you going to enter Parliament?"

2.20pm (Galas): A member of the 'Malaysians for Beng Hock' group, Beng Hock's sister Lee Lan ( above ), is arrested over the distribution of leaflets on custodial deaths.

NONE 2.40pm (Batu Sapi): DAP’s Lim Kit Siang ( left ) and Anwar ( above ) arrive at Sanbay Hotel. The crowd swells to 800 with many having to stand or sit on the floor, and some having to listen from the outside for lack of room in the hall.

3pm: BN’s Tsen visits Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar II with Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman.  

3pm (Galas): Three cows are slaughtered for a kenduri kesyukuran to be held at PAS markas later today.

The event is to celebrate Kelantan's victory over Negeri Sembilan in the Piala Malaysia football finals last night.

Today was declared a holiday for the state to mark the historic win, the first in 21 years.

3.38pm (Galas): A crowd of BN supporters go through Kampung Baru Cina in Gua Musang chanting "Satu Malaysia!"

3.40pm (Batu Sapi): BN’s Tsen visits Pasir Putih with MCA

4pm (Galas): Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen gives a briefing on the Malaysia Welcomes the World programme is held at the Chinese Temple in Kampung Pulai.

4pm (Batu Sapi): Ansari and Khalid Ibrahim give ceramah at Taman Mawar. Anwar gives ceramah at JDM, Taman Mawar.

4.30pm (Batu Sapi): BN’s Tsen visits Pasar Taman Mawar with CM Musa.

6pm (Batu Sapi): PKR’s Anwar joins prayers at Masjid Kg Forest.

6.30pm (Batu Sapi): Ansari gives ceramah at Taman Cenderamata Laut, followed by prayers at the nearby mosque.

6.30pm (Batu Sapi): Anwar gives ceramah at Kg Forest.

7pm: BN’s Tsen has dinner with Federal Chinese Associaton of Sandakan at Dewan Yu Yuan

7.30pm (Batu Sapi): Ansari gives ceramah at Dewan Hakka.

8pm - 9pm (Batu Sapi): PKR's Anwar gives ceramah at Kg Bakau followed by Kg Karamunting Hap Seng.

Meanwhile BN's Linda Tsen and Musa Aman are VIP guestts at an 111-table Sandakan Chinese Association dinner at Dewan Sekolah Yu Yuen at Mile 4, Sandakan.

Musa tells the 1,110 present that the opposition's allegations are baseless.

"They only aim at tarnishing the good work that we have done. Do not fall for tactics of the opposition, as they are only making pledges which they will not be able to keep," he warned.

8pm - 10pm (Galas): Tengku Razaleigh plans a visit to villagers at Tanah Putih and state National Registration Department housing quarters.

They fail to show up at Tanah Putih and the event winds up shortly past 10pm after three speakers address the 30-odd attendees.

galas malaysian for beng hock member released by police pc 311010 8.40pm (Galas): Teoh Beng Hock's sister and three members of her group are finally released from police detention but are required to report back to IPD Gua Musang on Nov 15 ( left ).

One of the detainees Ng Yap Hwa says that he has learnt from the police that it was arresting Supt Mazely who had lodged the police report that led to their arrest.

Lee Lan meanwhile complains the the police were rude to them during their ordeal at the police station.

10.18pm (Batu Sapi): PKR's Anwar gives ceramah at Dewan Hakka. He tells the crowd of 1,000 that the full Pakatan leadership is arriving to give the final leg of campaigning that "extra push".

They include PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, and DAP secretary-general and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who are expected to fly in tomorrow.
